The story so far:

Lilac is born, of Dahlia and Silene

Lilac has an arranged marriage to Zinnia

Zinnia and Lilac agree to keep their secret love lives a secret and start to see other people without notifying anyone besides eachother

Zinnia starts dating Amaryllis (A inorganic robotic being that runs a local flower shop known for it's gorgeous bouquets)

Lilac starts dating Calanthe (A organic being that lives miles away but met Lilac when getting lost during a delivery / working as a mail carrier)

It is discovered that Zinnia was seeing Amaryllis when they get spotted in the forest holding hands and kissing.

It is announced that the 'traitors' Zinnia and Amaryllis will be banished.

Lilac takes a stand against her parents in defense of Zinnia and their girlfriend. Confesses of how they made an agreement to hide eachother's behind-the-scenes love lives (but does not disclose her own secret lover) so they would have to punish her as well if they were to banish Zinnia and Amaryllis.

Dahlia and Silene take Lilac into private to explain they will 'handle the situation accordingly' after hearing Lilac's confession and it will be discussed tomorrow. For the time being Zinnia and Amaryllis would be locked in the dungeon until then.

Lilac accepts this middle ground, expecting her parents to distribute the punishment equally among the three of them rather than just Zinnia and Amaryllis, so she relaxes and goes to visit Zinnia and their partner in the dungeon where they are chained in a cell together.

Lilac explains the current situation as she understands it to Zinnia and Amaryllis and they make light of everything to cope, they start to laugh together and reminisce.

Early in the morning, it is announced that a public execution will be held for the 'traitors' Zinnia and Amaryllis.

Lilac jumps out of bed and rushes to the square to find both her close friends being executed. Zinnia mouths something that Lilac doesn't understand. ("Protect Juno").

Lilac continues to raise Juniper (Juno), now on her own since Calanthe is still her secret lover and she cannot dare bring an organic being infront of her parents, she fears how Calanthe may be punished if she does.

Calanthe wanted a family with Lilac despite everything but didn't want to pressure Lilac into it. Lilac also wanted a family with Calanthe and felt extremely lonely after losing her close friends, it felt like she only had Calanthe to turn to, so they decided to make the questionable decision of bringing life into their dark world.

Zephyr (Short for Zephyranthes) is born in private from Calanthe and Lilac splicing their genes. (Juno is 10 when Zephyr is born)

Lilac is able to keep her second life with Calanthe and Zephyr a secret from the kingdom until Juno turns 16 (Zephyr 6).

Juno has known her mother's secret since she was 7 and also began sneaking out of school to meet those of organic kind out of curiosity.

Juno makes a friend at the age of 8, Vaughn, who is an organic being and they pick out a meeting spot to spend time together every so often, soon becoming close friends before it starts to become romantic as they hit their mid-teens (13) and develop crushes on one another.

At the age of 16, there starts to be talk of who Juno might marry between her grandparents and mother. Lilac is against the arranged marriage idea but can't get a word in between her parents.

Juno confronts her family, confessing that she had fallen in love with a boy, which at first excites her grandparents to hear until they hear from Juno that the boy is an organic being.

Lilac is devastated to hear her daughter confess such a thing, not because she is against it, but because she doesn't want harm brought to Juno and had no idea about Juno's secret life.

Juno tells of how she'd been sneaking out for years from school to meet the boy and how kind he is, Juno tells her family how they are wrong about organic beings, that they aren't all bad, but her grandparents won't hear it.

Since Dahlia and Silene had seen how much it seemed to damage their daughter's psyche by executing Zinnia and Amaryllis as a teaching lesson, they decide to take a different approach with Juno.

Lilac tries to protect against their idea when discussed in private, out of the range of Juno's ears but they won't hear Lilac out.

Silene has the idea to turn the boy inorganic so that he will be 'safe' for Juno and fit their standards, as the heir of the crown can't possibly date an organic being since their kingdom stands for the free will of inorganic life away from the dangerous organic lifeforms.

Juno ends up listening in on the conversation without any of the three realizing it and goes to warn Vaughn.

Juno finds Vaughn and frantically explains, helping the confused boy hurry to pack and tells him she'll be running away with him. It turns out Vaughn is sickly however and wouldn't be able to travel very far without needing alot of rest to make up for it.

Juno claims she will carry him if she has to and they set off.

Juno and Vaughn end up being found by Silene, Dahlia, and Lilac.

They are captured and brought back to the castle together by force.

Silene and Dahlia begin running tests to see how it could be possible to turn an organic lifeform into an inorganic being, testing out many different trials on Vaughn which tend to be painful and traumatic. Luckily by the end of it, they succeed, but Vaughn is unrecognizable and has no recollection of his past in the slightest. They make a decision as a couple that it would likely harm Juno's psyche far worse to show her what they turned her friend and crush into.

So they send Vaughn off to a training facility for the royal guard to convince him he was just finished being created and is a robot that was made to emulate villains in a safe training environment to train the royal guard, he has no emotions and his only purpose in existence is to act as an advanced training dummy.

Meanwhile, they try to convince Juno that they gave Vaughn the option of either fleeing or being put through painful trials to be with Juno as an inorganic and he would rather have stayed an organic than be with Juno.

Juno didn't buy this and neither did Lilac (though Lilac wasn't present to know the results of their testing) so Juno pretended to believe them while mustering an escape plan in her head to leave and find Vaughn, the only person she truly ever trusted or felt like she had there for her.

Lilac ends up discovering Juno's notes of her escape route one day when cleaning Juno's room while she was out. She hides the notes back where she found them and finishes cleaning before leaving the room.

Dahlia suspects that Juno has been acting odd when spotting her one day scouting out the castle and sends guards to investigate Juno's room.

Juno is just outside her room when she notices several guards entering and exiting her room, spotting one of the notes she wrote about escaping in one of their hands, Juno panics. Lilac approaches Juno quietly from behind however and whispers for her to keep quiet and follow her.

Lilac, in fear for her daughter's life, leads her to the safest escape route she knows; the one she takes to visit her second family. Lilac doesn't tell Juno of her secret family at all and instead just explains to her how to escape the kingdom and reach the organic beings' lands since it will be the safest place for her now.

Juno feels angry towards her mother but agrees and goes off on her own.

Meanwhile...

Lilac claims to know nothing of her daughter's disappearance and plays the role of a distressed parent.

Silene and Dahlia are devastated to have lost the youngest heir of the kingdom and start planning a new arranged marriage for Lilac which Lilac doesn't want but also doesn't want to come off as suspicious to her parents/make them investigate and put her secret family in danger.

Due to being on higher alert, Dahlia has Lilac followed without her knowledge anyhow and her secret family is discovered.

When this news is reported to Dahlia and Silene, they order for soldiers to go and bring in the organic being and the half-and-half child.

Calanthe and Zephyr are brought to the castle and presented infront of the royal court; Silene, Dahlia, and Lilac.

Lilac is stunned to see her partner and child in the castle and intensely fearful. They don't appear harmed but she fears they will be.

Dahlia and Silene try again with another new approach for how to handle such a situation, not wishing to traumatize their current remaining heir and daughter further after everything she's already been through. They both fear she may snap. So this time around, they inform Lilac infront of her partner and child within the royal court, they will be turning Calanthe into an inorganic being and allowing Lilac to "keep" them, as well as their half-breed child. Silene states that they and Dahlia expect Lilac to allow them to turn Zephyr fully inorganic once he was older and his body would be strong enough to handle the affliction.

Lilac, seeing no other options, agrees to these conditions. Lilac is allowed to enjoy one more night in private with her partner before they undergo the affliction. They and their child, Zephyr all cuddle together in the guest chamber which is heavily guarded until morning comes.

As the sun rises, Calanthe is ripped from Lilac and Zephyr's arms to be taken to the dungeon and begin the first stages of turning them inorganic.

Zephyr doesn't understand what is happening but cries as he sees his mother wail and beg for the guards to release Calanthe.

Calanthe doesn't put up a fight and before being dragged out of the room completely says to Lilac, "This is a small price to pay to stay with you and Zeph my dear. Don't worry, mi amor."

Calanthe is successfully transformed but doesn't remember anything of their organic life, including their family with Lilac, let alone their history. Regardless, Calanthe is convinced that they had been in a coma for a while and may not remember, but they were married to Lilac and had a child with Lilac as well.

Lilac is devastated when meeting her lover who'd forgotten all about her but continues to love them regardless and hang onto the love they once had and slowly rebuild a new form of it with this new, inorganic version of her past lover.

Zephyr is traumatized by the drastic change in Calanthe, having been raised most of the time by them, it is a huge adjustment for the young child (6 years old at the time).

Zephyr and Lilac learn to get used to this new lifestyle in the kingdom despite the trauma inflicted by Silene and Dahlia.

On the other hand, Silene and Dahlia, having perfected their affliction to turn organic life forms into inorganic, start to use this ability to start an uprising against enemy organic kingdoms and steal troops from the organics that come to terrorize their kingdom. They turn these troops into inorganics and due to them losing their memories during the change, they are able to convince them that they were always inorganic and brainwash them into being a part of their kingdom.

Due to this development, the inorganic kingdom grows at a drastic rate and the tables turn so that inorganics outnumber the organics and hold more power.

Dahlia develops a more pleasant and less painful method for the affliction where the side-effects only consist of losing the afflicted's memories.

This causes organics to either have to start willfully integrating into the inorganic kingdom if they want to be afflicted peacefully or continue to try and make it on their own or in villages of fellow organics that get overrun by inorganics.

Many organics decide to integrate and accept being turned since it seems like the safest option.

As organic life forms start to be integrated into the kingdom, as peasant folk, Zephyr gets exposed to organics in daily living, typically when out and about shopping or on his way home from classes.

At the age of 9 he meets his first organic friend, King (Kingsley).

King is a peasant organic life form that would secretly spy on Zephyr's fencing classes since he found the techniques very cool but wasn't allowed to learn himself due to being an organic in the kingdom. Zephyr spotted him one day and said something out loud without realizing it would get King in trouble. King was punished for spying on the prince by having to scrub the castle's stained glass for a few months.

Zephyr wasn't aware he had caused this development until he found King outside the east side of the castle on his first day scrubbing the glass. Zephyr went up to him with interest since he realized he recognized him but King immediately snapped at Zephyr, yelling at him out of anger for getting him in trouble.

Zephyr didn't realize he had this kind of power until this point, and even at this moment of realization, he didn't recognize the sheer amount of power and destruction his position could bring. Due to this, he was visibly shocked by King's outburst, which in turn, caused King to realize Zephyr didn't know he would've caused harm by his action and so he calmed down and stopped yelling at Zephyr, instead giving him the cold shoulder.

In order to make it up to King, Zephyr started sneaking food from the royal dinners out to King as an apology gift, in which King would always reply "I'm no mutt, stop bringing me scraps you doof!"
Zephyr would respond by sitting the box of food down nearby for King to take when he was no longer around since he came to realize it was a pride thing for King.

After some weeks of this back and forth, King started to ask Zephyr questions, feeling bad that the boy was so persistent about making it up to him.
Zephyr was always excited to get the questions from the stubborn boy and would in turn tease King playfully about him finally taking interest and then proceed to answer King of course.

Eventually, they gained a close bond and would goof off together.

Their friendship went on until Zephyr was 11 when Dahlia found out and confronted Zephyr.
She explained to Zephyr 'how things were', that once King's body was strong enough to bare the change, he would have to be afflicted like all organic beings and he would forget Zephyr.

Zephyr was shocked to hear this and denied it as the truth, having an outburst against his grandmother which got him a smack in the mouth.
Dahlia "didn't want to make any rash decisions" so she confided in her husband about the encounter with the half-breed grandchild. They together decided that it was time to fully turn Zephyr inorganic and they would "allow him to keep his friend" by turning King as well.

King was turned and lost all his memories. Zephyr’s grandparents figured how important King was to Zephyr, so they brainwashed King to believe he was born to serve Zephyr as a companion and guard. (Though Zephyr is way more capable of taking care of the both of them himself)

The change happened while Zephyr was also being fully afflicted so he isn’t aware of the full situation and doesn’t even remember his friend not being a plushie to begin with, let alone himself.

As more organics are afflicted, and some start a rebellion against the kingdom Zephyr’s grandparents built and Zephyr is supposed to inherit, he begins to realize something is amiss and investigate behind his family’s backs. Slowly regaining memories over time as he dives into the truth.
