ORIGINS OF THE VIXEQUINN SPECIES
The vixequinn species is a genetically modified, ancient race with mostly lost and unknown origins. Although, they do know and are aware that they had been artificially created from various intelligent species that had been taken from the planet Earth. Their their creators, who were most definitely a highly advanced form of the human rade, are long gone and all they have left on the planet they initially came from and were created on are the ruins of the civilization that came before their species.
Unlike other alien species, they went from having a brain comparable to that of a dog to reaching true human-level sentience incredibly quickly, perhaps with even higher intelligence, surpassing their stone age within just a few hundred years. This was mostly due to the ruins of the society that their species initially began to evolve and grow around. It's suspected, via the tales the elders of their species tell, that the vixequinnem were created initially as a sort of indestructible pet for their creators; but when their masters died out, they were left to pick up the pieces of what they left behind.
Following in the footsteps of their creators that left pieces of their lives behind, they're highly invasive and colonial, traveling the galaxies and taking them over slowly. They've been known to marry and integrate into other cultures, become a part of planet societies that they've taken over, and even participate in wars with the conquered societies on their planets.
They are friendly with native inhabitants, only really participating in acts of violence when their planets are threatened or they're called on to act as protectors, often taking on the role of a sort of a galactic guard dog. They've even been called "Space Vikings", because despite their friendly and welcoming nature, they're exceptionally skilled in the art of warfare.
VIXEQUINN CULTURE AND TRADITIONS
The following is what is canonically known, but can be left up to interpretation for the most part. Individual vixequinnem do not have to strictly follow this, this is simply a guideline for what their society is like outside the planets they conquer.
CHARACTERISTICS AND VALUES
Vixequinnen are a proud and powerful species, reaching far and wide, across serveral galaxies. They're highly intelligent and highly advanced, and live pleasure based hedonistic lifestyles. All members of their race are expected to adhere to and respect the structure and order put into place by their overarching council that is run by their species elders. They have a powerful economy and trading system set into place, which runs throughout the galaxies they reside. Allowing them to collect and exchange resources without issue. It's also important to note that cleanliness is EXTREMELY important to this species, so an unclean vixequinn would likely be shunned. They are also very against internal fighting and warfare, as it goes against their species' purpose to expand and conquer. Vixequinnem are all friendly and civil towards one another! However, the same cannot be said for them with other species.
ELDERS, BROODMOTHERS, AND QUEENS
Vixequinnem highly value the elders, broodmothers, and queens of their society, often holding them to extremely high standards and putting them on pedastols, whereas with commoner vixequinnem like drones and soldiers, are not. Elders, broodmothers, and queens will oftentimes be fed first, cleaned up after, and presented with gifts very often. Initiating ANY sort of courtship with one of them is considered highly disrespectful, however if an elder, broodmother, or queen initiates the courtship, it is considered a high honor in their society. More often than not, these courtships lead to the vixequinnem being courted falling into very high and prestigeous positions in their society.
HOLIDAYS
Vixequinnem celebrate several holidays throughout the year, including the holidays of societies they integrate into, however the primary vixequinn holidays are Passionfall, Broody Day, Supernova Season, Terror's Eve, The Grand Feast, Dream Blessings, and New Cycles Eve.
These holidays are integreal to vixequinn society, and are celebrated for time periods instead of just days, in order to give every single vixequinn the chance to celebrate with their colonies. More about these holiday's will be discussed as they come and go!
