The World

Circus of Spirits Lore:

Circus of Spirits is a dimension/reality created by The Ringmaster and upheld by their power. A sort of Limbo, Circus of Spirits takes its place in between the Heavens and Hells of dimensions. The Circus’s Motto, “Where Spirits orphaned by both Heaven and Hell will never be lonely ever again!” The motto’s meaning? This Circus caters to spirits who can’t move onto either afterlife and essentially have been locked out of them. The Circus of Spirits gives an afterlife, protection, and a home for these poor spirits to go to. (If they so wish.)

As a story in the chain of multiverse stories, Circus of Spirits also is under the influence of the overarching lore of all stories:

The World:

The world of COS is made to look like a children’s drawing, so it all has a sketchy look/vibe to it as if it’s been drawn in and colored with crayons and colored pencils. COS doesn’t have a sun but it does have a paper-crafted looking moon. Though there is no Sun, Cos still has a day/night cycle where the night usually lasts a little longer. (Due to wanting to give the most time to nightly performances)

There is barely any modern tech found in COS, so almost no laptops, cellphones, video games, etc. Most of the tech found in COS is either powered by magic, are “wacky” and colorful, fantasy/steampunk like inventions by the circus workers, and is limited to the 1950s-1960s era of tech, with some exceptions such as Arcade Consoles. An important thing to note is that even if you have a modern tech such as a laptop, tablet, or cellphone, there is no Wifi in COS.

Attractions:

There are various attractions of COS, mostly everything you would expect of a circus. Like a funhouse, A maze of mirrors, a ferris wheel, roller coasters, kiddie rides, carnival games for prizes, etc. There are also a few other attractions within COS, such as an arcade, duck pond, bungee jumping, ziplining, a crystal cave, spelunking, a petting zoo, an arts and crafts studio, an observatory, and A Museum of Clown History.

There is however, one condemned “attraction” that no one except the Head Clowns and The Ringmaster are allowed into. This “attraction” is Spade’s “Hall of Bodies”. Put away in the darkest corner of COS, the attraction only remains in COS because that was a stipulation of the deal The Ringmaster and Spades made. It’s a secret what’s inside- but it can be guessed from the name alone what it’s filled with. (It used to be open during September and October as a Halloween Attraction, but after it nearly caused the spirits to freak out one time- Rv closed it down for good.)

Toy Boxes:

One of the main ways to travel to COS are empty toy boxes. Acting as a to and from portal, it's an easy and quick way to access the Circus- Though, the boxes will not open up To COS for people with malicious intent. All you need to do is knock on the box three times and ask for The Ringmaster by name, anyone in the vicinity of the box will be sucked into COS. A way to summon The Ringmaster is also via an empty toy box, just knock twice instead of three times and simply call them “The Ringmaster”.

There is a specific toy box that hosts the entire world of COS and if damaged or locked up could jeopardize the entire circus, but this box is carefully hidden away in an undisclosed location, only known to The Ringmaster and a few, select, others.

The Music Box:

Sometimes when the Spirits can not be consoled or things go wrong within the Circus that cause the spirits to get upset and or riled up, there is a powerful Music Box the Ringmaster possesses, gifted to them by their adoptive Father. This music plays calming and tranquil lullabies that soothes both the spirits and workers heart and souls, calming even the most angry or riled up person down. If played long enough, this Music Box will also cause one to fall into a deep slumber, no matter the amount of insomnia they might face. How long it takes for people to reach a deep slumber by its effects, depends on person to person, and depends on how resilient they are to magical influences.

Aging:

People who are alive within COS do not age physically unless they choose to. this is because there is no time flow within the realm of The Circus of Spirits. The only way people can age within COS is to ask the ringmaster to age them up, or to go back to a normal realm/reality age age normally there. However, the Ringmaster will usually automatically age up children yearly who live within cos until they turn 18, and decide if they wish to stay or leave. (So children will age normally until 18, basically)
