CITRUSYTE BASICS

CITRUSYTES are basically what you'd call a HOST of a LIMONOID parasite! (Alotta weird words huh? Well I'll explain...) When a host (which may be any species ranging from humans to animals) consumes a limonoid (a parasitic creature made of flesh, resembling a lemon with an eye and strange growths) the resulting mishmash of them both is called a CITRUSYTE!

Hosts will develop fleshy bits on various parts of their body, most commonly their heads, as well as growing them a tail (if they already have one, the tail is replaced by flesh!) Not only that, but the entirety of the hosts innards are fused with the rapidly growing limonoid flesh, rearranging all organs and muscles inside them (except for the brain and heart, which are stored in a sac in the center of the body, but we'll get to that later!)

This sounds painful, but we assure you the most you'll feel is just a bit of cramps for a couple days! Typically, the duration which the limonoid takes to take over the body is from a couple of days to a week. Any longer might mean your limonoid isnt in its healthiest state...(if this is the case, do contact CYTRUS.co's helpdesk!)

Because of the changes made in the host's body, the host may experience ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊, ▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊, ▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊, ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊. ▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊ ▊▊▊▊ ▊▊ ▊▊▊▊▊▊ ▊▊▊▊.

ANATOMY

Citrusytes are made of mostly just...flesh. They lack bones and most bones they have is just super hard flesh or bone sticking out of the limonoid flesh. Because of this they're pretty squishy... Oh and all Citrusytes are sexless. Yams making everything asexual moment

HOST The host of the limonoid, which acts as the body of it. Any species works! However centaurs or centaur like beings (mermaids, etc) are much harder to take over due to their size, so citrusytes of those species are harder to come by...

FLESH The flesh of the Citrusyte is a combo of the hosts organs and flesh and the parasite basically. Bits of flesh stick out for the parasite to be able to breathe and see outside the host, other than the eyes they sometimes have. In rare occasions that hosts have more than one limonoid, the second limonoid's flesh doesnt mix with the first limonoid.

NUCLEUS Aka the brain/heart. Its like the heart and brain of the host just sorta get smooshed together and put in a bag encased in flesh in the middle of the host's body.

EYES Theres always an eye in each flesh ear (in the case they have flesh ears-). Limonoids may have eyes as well as other growths and bones on other parts of their flesh.

ABILITIES

All Citrusytes have the minor ability to shapeshift! Due to the fleshy, malleable innards they can morph different parts of their body as they wish. Though they cant change their body too much. For example, they can do stuff like grow claws, spines, and *cough* change their presentation- HOWEVER they cant do stuff like shrink or grow more than a foot or change their species.

Citrusytes also have regenerative abilities too! They heal and regrow their flesh pretty quickly, though they arent completely invincible. Because they can heal really quick they're also pretty much immune to every disease. The only way they can be severely injured is if their nucleus is injured.
