Cats seem to show up on this island from the sea, they come severely injured to perfectly fine, they don't remember much, if any of their past. Living there for 10,000 years, they've slowly growing intelligent enough to build better homes, clothing, and even start walking on two paws. These cats don't even know of humans or what's past the reefs and daunting cliffs, but they do know they are prosperous here.

The island is big enough to even have different regions, the a frozen mountain, to dense and foggy forests, to fields of flowers, and muddy swamps. Different villages exist, some more friendly and some preferring to keep to themselves. For the most part the island is peaceful. You might even be lucky enough to come across a mercat near the beaches.
