✧ Welcome to the official Monsoonise Dragons world! ✧

Monsoonise Dragons emerged from the depths of the ocean, inhabiting the islands of the South Pacific and Indian Oceans. Through myth and legend they are said to have come from the stars or the children of the sea gods once said to have swim the ocean depths. More prone now to living on land, they have also been known to spend their entire life under the water, never surfacing more then a minute at a time. They are reptiles by anatomy, however they are warm blooded like most mammals. They resemble most Eastern Dragons by their lengthier forms and feathered bodies. They have no genetic relation to any other species of the world however, and by this they are classified as a species entirely of their own. They breath oxygen though a pair of lungs similar in respiration to all creatures that walk, or crawl of the earth, however they have a set of internal gills on their throat that allow them to breath under water though the same process. Their fingers and toes can spread their feathers slightly to web them, allowing them to swim at a greater speed then mammals, and with the assistance of their tail swim with a serpentine motion. They have hair that grows from their tail and their head, this is often braided to help keep the length under control, as they often allow it to grow to well below shoulder length. They can speak in whatever language of the region to which they reside, though most commonly English or French as the region of the world to which they reside.

◈ Islands ◈

Statera - "Balance"

This island is known for being the first to see Monsoonise Dragons show. It also was the first to see life come to it. Many Monsoon now use the latin and English languages. The climate there is neutral, warm in the summer and cool in the winter. This directly translates to coat colors being many shades of warm pastels. Statera's lands are fertile, which lead to more nature-based mystic powers for Monsoons.

Tempérée - "Temperate"

This particular island is large in shape and very lush with forests. Many of the locals here speak French, but it's not uncommon for them to speak other languages. Its culture is based on treating others with kindness and hospitality. Monsoonise Dragons here are commonly female although the male population is lesser. Coat colors on this island are cool dark colors with lots of greens to blend with the environment. The main popularity for this island is the wealth of the Monsoonise villages and towns with the secrets and knowledge behind them.

Invierno - "Winter"

Being enveloped in an endless winter, this island is often overlooked by humans. However, Monsoonise Dragons flock to this location seeking to unlock their affinities. Monsoon born here have strange, wild colors and exotic patterns. This causes Monsoon from other islands to have their heads turned. Invierno is rich with gold and sliver, which leads to amazing jewelry and other tools to be used by Monsoon under thick pelts that have been hunted. Culture on this island is often tribes or stone-aged themed towns with menacing appearances. Many of the inhabiting Monsoon speak Spanish or Latin.

✧ General guidelines ✧

All Monsoon have red eyes or some shade of red. However, this can be discussed if you have a rare or mythic MYO
Males usually stand at least 6 feet tall. However, if a male decided to change gender they can shift hormones and shrink to a female. Females on Tempérée can be 6 feet or taller. Shifting gender can apply to females as well!
Breeding two Monsoon REQUIRES an uncommon, rare, or custom MYO.
If two same gendered Monsoon love each other a long time, they can create offspring. This is due to a survival organ that can incubate a child using spit and tender touch. Fertility based affinities can assist in this as well!
White and black coats are a MYTHIC trait. Even tiny hints on the coats or hair are not allowed unless you have a Mythic MYO.
Monsoon have at least 4 colors always. Any less need a rare MYO or greater.
Tails are horse like, all hair. No flesh.

✧ Other facts ✧

Monsoon age fairly quick, reaching adulthood within 12 years, then living on for ages after. The longest living Monsoon are 12,568 years old.
Monsoon by default have retractable claws and a pointed tongue like a pangolin.
Female Monsoon can have up to 10 children each without fertility affinity help.
Many Monsoon practice monogamy, although on Tempérée there are harems of women-only groups and male-only groups for few years at a time. Many believe that to find love, is to learn from among your own gender.
When confessing love to a partner, a Monsoonise dragon presents an object of liking to their potential partner. If the partner likes it, it is considered to begin a trial. This trial is decided by the partner. Once completed, they are officially coupled for life.
