General Terms and Rules

These are the Terms of Service for the Vrenes species created by Rynnu on all sites you can find it! By playing, buying, selling, trading, and otherwise participating in the species, you are automatically agreeing to these Terms of Service and acknowledge that by breaking any of these terms, you may get a strike or be banned and blacklisted from the species.

If you have any questions or need clarification on any terms, feel free to message Rynnu or an available mod, miniifroggii or HonieBuzz.

Vrenes is a Closed Species, meaning you cannot freely make your own.

You must obtain a MYO slot from the in-server store or a MYO sale before creating your own Vrenes
Rynnu must be credited as the species creator
Credit the designer of the character properly as well.

Vrenes is an 18+ Closed Species

Due to the nature of PayPal purchases and optional adult themes present in the species, minors will not be allowed into the species.
Any minors will be blocked from entering the server until they are properly 18. We will not accept any even if they are a week away from turning 18.
Any minors found having lied about their age in the server will be immediately banned from the species and any Vrenes characters or items they have will be voided.
Minors cannot receive Vrenes characters in trades, even off-server. Any Vrenes traded to minors will be voided, and anyone knowingly trading to minors will receive a ban.
Anyone unknowingly trading with minors will only receive a warning.
All that said, anyone who does not wish to participate in the more adult side of the species is free not to.

Always be kind and courteous to other members of the species

Any form of harassment is not tolerated in the species. Any sort of bigotry shown towards other members that are minorities is not tolerated at any level and may lead to an instant ban.
Stealing characters from other members is not tolerated.
If you are a member who gets anxious over the potential theft of characters, we strongly encourage having an easily identifiable watermark on your reference image and always signing your artwork! We recommend doing some research on what makes a strong watermark before going with just anything.
Scamming other members by either selling a character that isn’t yours, trying to sell/trade unofficial or unapproved Vrenes, or up-charging on a resell is strictly forbidden and will be dealt with appropriately.

Event and Prompt Submissions

Most events and prompts will allow the use of other people’s characters (with their permission!) and species NPCs to fulfill the goal required.
There is no penalty for using characters you do not own, so long as it is within the boundaries of the person who owns the character.
When using other people’s characters for prompts, please make sure you are staying within the owner’s boundaries and not creating art that makes them uncomfortable. (Example: Creating art that involves a fetish when the owner does not allow for it.)

Sales, Trades, and Payments

A major part of the Vrenes Closed Species will be the sale of Adoptables to the community, and with that, a few ground rules.

Please note that a lot of sales, trades, and payment rules will ultimately lead back to an individual guest artists' personal ToS- If it is not covered here, then please defer to the artist's ToS or DM a Mod for clarification.

All official sales of Vrenes will take place on the Vrenes Discord Server

Sales will primarily take the form of Flat Sales and Raffles. Any form of Auction will only occur during special events or advent calendars, and members will be notified ahead of time before they happen!
The way sales will work on the server will use Threads. The artist selling the design will post the design, and then create a thread with a post saying people are now allowed to post their messages. Any user making the thread themselves or posting before the artist does will be deleted and will have to post again after the artist is properly finished setting up!
For Flat Sales, once the artist has opened up the thread properly, users can post in the thread and claim the design! The first to post will get the design.
For Raffles, once the thread is properly opened up, users will enter by posting a message in the thread. When time is up, the artist will post in the thread again, and use the bot to raffle off the design within the thread.
For Auctions, once the thread is opened up to everyone, users will bid within the thread. When the time is up for the Auction, the thread will be closed.
In all cases, once the winner is determined, they will be contacted for payment by the artist selling the design.
Please refer to individual artists’ ToS for their payment methods and how much time you have to pay them. Exceeding the artist’s payment period will cause the adoptable to either go to the next person to claim, the second highest bid or be re-raffled.
Currently, there are no cooldowns on sales, and each person can enter another sale immediately. This may be subject to change in the future, but as of right now, this is not a worry for the mods.
While there is no cooldown on sales, there is a cooldown for trading/reselling/gifting your Vrenes adoptable after you’ve purchased it and it’s been officially added to the masterlist: 2 Months.
Guest Artists and Mods who take customs are free to choose between whatever sale type they prefer for custom commissions.
Please refer to an individual artist’s ToS for Payment Plan information.
For all sales, your discord account must be at least 3 months or older to enter. Anyone found to be using multiple accounts for farming items, server currency, or manipulating the odds of raffles and interfering with flat sales and auctions will have all accounts banned from the species.
Refunds are NOT available for any transactions.
Artists reserve rights to their artwork and are allowed to display them in portfolios or on websites as examples of their work and use them as they please for self-advertisement.
Vrenes may also use the original adoptable artwork to promote the species as well.
Any chargebacks to an artist will result in an immediate ban of the member and the adoptable going back up for sale.
If for some reason you have paid and within 48 hours you have yet to receive the full files for your character, please DM a mod with receipts and we will contact the GA in question.

About Raffles, Flat Sales, and Auctions

The primary mode of sale for mods and guest artists in the species are Flat Sales and Raffles; Auctions are saved for special occasions.
By entering any of these, you are saying you have the money and can pay for the adoptable when asked for payment. Please discuss with the artist beforehand about payment plans should one be needed, but do not wait until after you’ve won, as it could be grounds for you forfeiting the adoptable.
Flat Sales are, by nature, First Come First Served (FCFS). The first who commented gets the adopt, and if for some reason they back out, it goes to the second person who commented.
Due to the nature of FCFS, anyone who creates a thread or comments before the artist did and sets it up themselves will get a warning. This is not acceptable behavior of members.
Only one user is allowed to claim for a specific user. So if you want to claim for your friend, only you can claim, your friend will not be able to attempt to claim as well. This applies to raffles as well, if you enter for your friend, your friend cannot enter the raffle for themselves.
The length of Raffles will be up to the individual artist of the adoptable.
Rerolls will happen if the winner is unresponsive or fails to pay within the payment window specified by the artist.
Whether or not an auction has an auto-buy (AB) attached to it is entirely up to the GA posting the auction.
Mods and Guest Artists are not responsible for your bidding; if you bid, you are saying you can buy this adoptable. Backing out after you’ve won will result in a verbal warning and a potential ban for repeat offenses. Please bid responsibly.
As previously stated, anyone found with multiple accounts entering any of these events with the goal of increasing their chances to win will be banned along with all their accounts.

Make Your Own (MYO) Sales

MYOs are typically available through the server shop using the currency you earn from doing prompts and events.
The MYO slots from the server shop CANNOT be resold for real currency, but you can resell them for the server currency.
You may only resell the slot for how much you paid for it.
MYO slots can be gifted to other members of the server.
You must be in the server to have a MYO slot from the server’s store! USD sale MYOs are kept track of separately.
Occasionally, MYO slot sales will go on where you can purchase a slot for USD.
Slots from USD sales may be resold for USD, but for no more than you paid for it.
Regardless of the method of original purchase, you are free to trade MYO slots.
You’re allowed to have multiple MYO slots.
There is a cooldown on trading/reselling MYO slots: 1 Month.
Anyone found to skirt around or break MYO cooldown rules will receive a warning.
Mods have access to bot logs to keep track of MYO slot purchases and use throughout the members; while sale MYOs are kept track of separately.
Once a design is approved and on the masterlist, the cooldown for it is: 2 Months.

First Time Owners (FTOs)

Note that you only count as an FTO in the species if you have not owned: A Vrenes - A Dreemi (even without a Vrenes attached) - A MYO slot (even without a design being approved)
If you’ve owned any of the above, you will not be counted as an FTO, even if you do not currently own one. These events are created for people who have never had the opportunity to have one before.
While mods are the ones who set up FTO events, it is solely up to the individual guest artist if they want to participate in them, so there’s a chance you’ll miss your favorite guest artist in any given event.
FTO events are made to make it easier for FTOs to get their first Vrenes; it is not a guarantee any individual will get one.
There may be events in the future for people who have never had a Dreemi or a Vrenes before to get one to pair up with their already-owned Dreemi or Vrenes, meaning a wider selection of people will be allowed to enter these events.

Trading and Reselling

Members are allowed to post ads to trade/resell their Vrenes, Dreemi, MYO slot, or in-server items.
If a Vrenes has been attached to a Dreemi, they must remain attached! You cannot sell or trade one and keep the other.
Anything purchased with server currency is only allowed to be resold with server currency! No real-world money should be swapped in the process of trading or selling these items.
Anyone who does this will receive a harsh warning, and repeat offenders will be banned.
Anything purchased with real-world currency must be sold for the price originally bought at + commissioned price. Personal art cannot be added to the final resell value.
People scalping character prices will receive a harsh warning.
While mods run and update the masterlist as needed, once the masterlist is updated, mods no longer are responsible for anything regarding the trade.
If you suspect a scam has occurred after the trade has gone through, contact a mod. Any other types of issues may not be easily resolved from our end.
COOLDOWN REMINDERS: From Premade Sales: 2 Months - Approved MYO Designs: 2 Months - Unused MYO Slots: 1 Month
Any MYO slot gotten for free cannot be traded until the design is complete, and they cannot be resold period.
When a MYO design is completed the cooldown is reset and you must wait 2 months before trading.
If an emergency happens and you need to resell before the cooldown is up, please contact a mod.
You will only be allowed to resell if an emergency happens, no trading for other characters as an add-on to reselling.

Ownership

Vrenes is a Closed Species, and as such, each user is essentially given a “license” when buying or using a MYO to create a Vrenes. While you own the character you purchase or create, you do not own the species it belongs to, so by having the character be a part of the species you are agreeing to the following terms:

Design Rules

Artists retain partial rights to any design they create and any artwork that includes Vrenes.
Members are allowed to alter designs they get but must refer to the original designer’s ToS before doing so and follow what they outline in terms of redesigning the character they created.
Any designs that change the entirety of the design involve purchasing an item from the server’s shop.
The only design changes that don’t need approval involve minor color changes, such as turning a dark red to a darker red or change in clothes. You’re free to ask for masterlist updates for these minor changes as well anyways.
You are not allowed to lighten the skin tone of any approved Vrenes. Darkening the skin is fine.
You are free to role play, create stories, and make art of the design as you please, as well as upload it where you like with proper artist/designer credit.
Members are free to request a design be voided at any time.
Voided designs cannot be reinstated by the member that voided them, but if traded to a new member, can be reinstated with a MYO slot. Any design originally an “Official” design will lose that title and be recategorized as a MYO instead.
For what you can do with voided Vrenes designs, refer to the original designer’s ToS.
Members are free to make AUs of their Vrenes, which includes making AUs of them as other species.
Members can also make Vrenes AUs for characters they already own.
Any Vrenes with AUs must have those disclosed before reselling or trading.
When you trade or resell a design, you forfeit any rights you had to the design itself to the new owner, and once the trade is complete, you cannot forcibly reclaim them.
You’re allowed to create designs with adult aspects as well, which include things like skimpy lingerie and exposed nipples, but nothing more should be created for approval. Though we ask that you add a spoiler for things like that when posted in the approval channel!
After your design is approved, have fun with whatever kind of adult themes you’d like with your character! (See the NSFW section for what is and isn’t allowed specifically)

Commercial Use

Commercial Use of a Vrenes design is NOT allowed under any circumstances. Commercial Use means anything you could make money off of, including but not limited to: -Creating merch and selling it in a store. -Using them on a live stream or for Vtubing. -Using them for promotion outside of personal commission advertisements that include only art you made.
The exception to these is any commissions you offer with artwork of a Vrenes character you drew yourself. Artists are always allowed to accept commissions to draw Vrenes characters as well.
If you convert a one-off character into a Vrenes, either as an AU or as their main form, you cannot use the Vrenes form for commercial use, even if the original one-off design came with commercial use.
Naturally, you can still use the one-off design as you please, you just can’t use the Vrenes form for anything commercial.
On the other hand, if you get a Vrenes and want to create a one-off AU for it, you are not allowed to purchase commercial use from the original designer for the one-off.
Commercial use for designs that originate from Vrenes can only be discussed if the Vrenes design is voided willingly by a member who is not banned or blacklisted from the group. Once voided and commercial use is purchased, you may not reinstate the Vrenes as a part of the species. This is to keep people from skirting around the rules involving Vrenes commercial use.
Blacklisted or banned members are not allowed to discuss commercial use for original Vrenes designs, even when voided.

Member Content

Members creating and submitting content for Vrenes-related activities is a major part of the species and server, so here are a few guidelines on what is and isn’t allowed on the server!

Adult-oriented and not safe for work (NSFW) content

Participation in anything adult-oriented within the Vrenes species is entirely optional and up to the user if they wish to participate.
It is fully up to the member to decide if they want all of their Vrenes, only some, or absolutely none of them to have any NSFW content. User discretion is advised when making these decisions.
Any content made that can be considered 18+ must go into the dedicated NSFW channel in the server.
While sexual themes like nudity, lingerie, and general sex are allowed without filters in the channel, anything that treads into kink territory or involves anything non-sex related should be filtered with a note as to what is behind the filter.
We do not allow content that involves rape, sexual assault, pedophilia, incest, bestiality, extreme body horror/mutilation, self-harm, suicide, any form of hate towards minorities, or anything otherwise illegal within the species.
We also strictly forbid members from creating NSFW content that involves another member’s characters without their permission beforehand.
Depictions of Dreemis in sexual scenarios is strictly forbidden; please keep anything sexual related to purely the humanoid Vrenes!

Guidelines for members creating their own Vrenes-related works.

All art created by members must be fully their own.
This discludes the use of bases for MYOs and outfit designs. Bases are not allowed to be used for submissions for rewards of any kind.
AI content or any machine-generative content is forbidden from the server. No Vrenes content may be created with the use or assistance of machine-learning technology.
Members are not allowed to use anything Vrenes related for any sort of blockchain purpose, which includes Non-Fungable Tokens (NFTs).
Members are allowed to collaborate with other members on submissions, but the work must be split evenly. For example, if each person works on one character, they must also work on the background together; one person should not be doing all of the work on the background. Or, if members are writing together, they must each write roughly 500 words.
Editing another member’s artwork is forbidden unless permission is granted prior. Please check every artist’s ToS before making any edits at all.
Members are not allowed to submit commissioned works for prompts and events, they must submit something made entirely by themself.
Each submission to a prompt or event must be wholly unique to said prompt or event. Submissions should not be “reused” or “repurposed” for an event or prompt.
