Shawling Anatomy
✧ The main feature of a Shawling is the winged shawls (Capes); These are mandatory on all shawling designs, you can find out more about the importance of shawls via "Custom Shawl Tailoring"
✧Shawlings height ranges around 4ft at the tallest and 2ft at the shortest.
✧ A Shawling's diet consist of fruit, vegetation, bugs, nuts, seeds and fish.
✧ Ears are large Feather like crests that can move with emotion .
✧ Whole body is Covered in thin Down Feathers from head to toe .
✧ Hands have small soft pads ,most of the time covered with soft feathers .
✧ under side of feet are also feathered
✧ They naturally have short and puffy tails , think like a chicken butts .
Eye Examples + Rules
With eyes you are free to play around with colour but we ask you stay within the following guidelines -
✧ Pupil must always be a lighter or contrasting colour compared to the iris.
This doee not need to be the same colour but just lighter tone.
✧ Please only use shapes shown in the examples (Slit/Heart/Star/Diamond/Crosses/Water droplet/Round).
✧ Heterochromia is allowed.
✧ The sclera can be any colour of choice.
Hair , Scars And Body Mods
shawlings love to show individuality with accessories the following things are allowed
✧ You are free to play around with hair styles and colours
✧ Piercings
✧ Tattoos
✧ Scars
✧ Hair and shawl accessories, charms, badges
✧ misc clothing items (the shawl must still be clear and fit the rules)
✧ Missing limbs are fine but please keep it SFW and non-offensive
✧ with prosthetics please remember the world setting is high fantasy,
but we will not reject submissions with slightly modern or futuristic augmentations.

The core Arcanum type will always be the same they are born with, this will remain the same for the Shawling's entire life span.
Arcanum Types
Earth
Earthen magic is a form of magic that focuses on the elements of the earth such as dirt, rocks, and minerals. It is believed that by connecting with the earth and its energy, one can access a deep well of strength, wisdom, and resilience.

+ Shawlings born of this Arcanum tend to have very Natural tones and colours and surround them selves with plants and nature.
Sky
Sky magic reminds us of the awe-inspiring power and majesty of nature and inspires us to appreciate the simple yet profound beauty that surrounds us every day.
+ Manipulate the elements of the sky, such as; wind, clouds, thunder, lightning and fog.
+ Shawlings born of this Arcanum tend to have more blue and lighter tones, they feel most at home when up high or in the sky
Fire
Fire magic is a type of magic that involves controlling and manipulating flames. + Shawlings born of this Arcanum tend to have very pale white and icey blue colouration with thick feathers to keep them warm in colder climates.
Astral
Many Shawling's believe that the full moon is a time of heightened emotions, creativity, and intuition, while the new moon is a time for setting intentions and planting seeds for the future.
+ Manipulate the elements/energy of the moon and stars
+ Shawlings born of this Arcanum tend to have more night sky themed colours associated with stars and moons. They are a lot more well kept and have smooth almost sparkling feathers.
Prismatic
This type of magic involves the use of multiple colours, typically in a rainbow spectrum, to create dazzling displays of creativity and artistry.
+ Manipulate rainbows, colours, light, etc. They also are able to project fireworks.
+ Shawings born of this Arcanum tend to have very bright and loud colours to them, they have a lot of bold markings and shawls. Shawlings born of the rainbow Arcanum are not afraid to be loud and stand out.
Shadow
Sometimes associated with evil or corruption, shadow magic is often used by dark wizards, necromancers, and other villainous figures. However, there are also stories in which shadow magic is used for good, as a means of protecting others, fighting against evil, divinations or even healing.

+ Shawlings born of this Arcanum tend to have dull and dark colours with hints of red/green/orange and very spooky vibe about them. They tend to stay out of the sunlight having a slight sensitivity to light and prefer darker locations.

Shawling's can grow a range of longer feathers its not very common but it can happen from time to time .
This chart bellow shows what places longer feathers can and can't grow from .
Keratin Growth
( Un-Natural )
With very rare cases the body may produce extra keratin causing growths in the form of horn like structures
this dose not cause too much discomfort , the keratin dose not grow too large .
Shawling's tend to shave them down to manage .
Keratin horns can be painted and decorated just like nails
Custom Shawl Tailoring
Shawls are only ever created by a Shawl Tailor; who are held in high regard in
the community as they play a vital role in Shawling culture.
The job of a Shawl Tailor was first given by the Celestial's to carry out this important craft.
The Shawl Tailors craft has been passed down through generations of those
originally chosen for the craft by the Celestial's.
Once a Shawlet reaches close to adulthood they are taken to a Shawl Tailor to discuss design choices,
this is to get the perfect shawl fitting to the users personality and interests
The Creation
The Tailor will then get right to work crafting the perfect Shawl,
Stitching magic into the fabric itself. This process could take from a week
to a month depending on the complexity of the design.
Once the Shawl is complete it is shipped off to the Shawlet,
this now marks the day they reach adulthood and become a Shawling.

The Shawl is very big part of a Shawlings every day life,
not only does it help show individuality but is key for getting around within the world.
Being imbued with magic the shawls can be used to glide and fly for short distances.
Style and Designs
Shawls come in all diffrent shapes, colours and designs.
The only restriction being that the Shawl must have a single feathered wing design on the under side.
The wing can go to the left or the right much like a dominant hand.
