Visual / Anatomy

Smile Demons’ body compositions may vary. They may sometimes be a combination of both masculine and feminine features, something in between, or entirely different from what’s listed here! Due to their active nature, it’s not common to see wild smile demons that are not in shape. There tends to be more variety of body types in domesticated SD’s, as they tend to stick to whatever habits that suit their more laid-back lives!

this is not a guide on their body types, it’s more so a reference on the differentiations between masculine/androgynous and feminine presenting SD’S

Oral anatomy

Standard SD’s will only have one set of teeth. It will be stated and shown in references if your SD has a second row!

While their teeth may appear to be flat, Smile demons actually have very sharp teeth. Each tooth is lined with small, razor-like bumps that aid them in chewing and tearing into things like meat or flesh. They are also equipped with a standard set of canines in their lower jaw.

SD’s have very rough tongues, textured similarly to a big-cat. This is most helpful for grooming the coats of their pups, or getting fur off of their prey.

SD Facial Anatomy

The face of a smile demon is textured like flesh all around the eyes, nose, mouth, chin and forehead. This texturing stops at the hairline, which may sometimes drastically affect how your SD looks! The hairline and eyes are two of the main features that prevent same-face syndrome when drawing and designing a smile demon.
The hairlines In smile demons are genetic, but that doesn’t limit the creativity that you may have when designing a related SD unless you chose to remain consistent!

Their Facial structure

SD’s share features with many well-known animals, as they mostly consist of a combination of canine and equine anatomy. Their face shape is sculpted closer to a canine’s, leaning closer to breeds like golden retrievers or Rottweilers (for their bulky snouts). These breeds will be the best references when drawing their faces
