Letters to the Flora
and Hope to the Fauna
After the tragic injury that crippled fourteen-year-old Sasha and ended his ballet career before it had even begun his parents send him to spend the summer in a boring small town in Canada. In this small-town Sasha meets a group of outcasts that call themselves “The Flora.” He soon finds the town to be anything from boring. From people mysteriously going missing in the mines. To a portal of trees bringing both wonderful things to existence. Sasha and his new group of friends find themselves immersed in the world the portal has created. As the portal starts to bring horrific and dangerous things through, the friends realize this is out of their control. They must fight time to understand the world they once welcomed before it destroyed their own.
Inspiration
LTTF Is a story of whimsey and horror the main dedication of it is based on Michigan and Canadian Legends. The idea of writing about a small two where people go missing was hugely dedicated to the band PUP and their songs “Pine Point” and “The Coast”
Wormwood
Sasha is an aloof dedicated boy. His extreme antisocial behaviors only add to his mysticism, being new to town, having an accent and albino complexion made sure to spark notice in the small town.
Rosemary
Yuka is the leader of the Flora. They are outgoing and a natural wild canon. The glue of the friend group. Well known around town because of their brothers being a Shaman
Wisteria
As a child An was in an accident leaving her with short term memory loss. Her father created a system of walkie talkies for the Flora for them to communicate and record conversations for her to view again later
Orchid
Emry is spunky and outgoing. Popular and friendly, it's odd to hear that she's chosen to hang out with the misfits; but when you see her with them it makes sense. She's the voice of reason, and the group knows it.
Nightshade
Ashton is an ‘honorary’ member of the Flora. He gave himself his own nickname and Emry often reminds him that he's only allowed to hang out with the group because she has to babysit him.
