March Newsletter

February was a quiet month for Amoebuds, but as college classes start to ease up, we are hoping for March to be more eventful.
While species events may still be somewhat relaxed, we are channeling our efforts into our Lorekeeper, future systems, and new species information.
Here's what you can look forward to this month:


Amoe MYO Gacha

A gacha system for bacterial Amoes is scheduled to be released on the 10th of March. 
These Amoes function as MYO slots, with the Amoe itself representing the MYO’s bacterial form.
There will be a trade bulletin posted for Amoe swaps soon after the release of the gacha.


Guest Artist Applications

We are currently accepting guest artist applications for our April GA batch!
Applications will be open for a few days, and if you're selected, you will be contacted via Toyhouse or Discord.
Designs for this batch will be drawn in a semi-chibi style, with a limit of one design per person.
The deadline for design submissions is March 25th.
Artists must be at least 18 years old to participate.

Discord Shop

We are currently exploring ways to open a temporary shop exclusively on our Discord server.
This shop will offer MYO slots and redesign tokens while our website is under construction.

It's been a long time coming, but Amoebud's Nuclear traits sheet is finally here, and with it, a brand new event where you can evolve your current Amoebuds!
There have also been a large number of changes to the main species sheet. Feel free to explore them all over again!

With the Nuclear sheet comes a new NPC: Whimsy!
Whimsy has existed in the Amoebuds Masterlist for a long time, anyone with a keen eye may recognize him.
As a powerful Nuclear Amoebud, Whimsy cares for a group of Amoebuds who reside in his broken-down castle.
Skillful, arrogant and magical, Whimsy acts as a surrogate Inuneru for these Amoebuds. He isn't afraid to show all those who oppose him the true meaning of chaos,
all while his ghostly companion, Booboo, watches with it's unblinking eye.

Nuclear Trait Event

In celebration of the big update, there are a number of new events going on, besides the Nuclear trait event.

Vicsera has decided to host an OTA to commemorate the occasion.
This Amoebud is Nuclear, with a number of traits to back it up, and comes with extra art by me.

Now that the Nuclear sheet is finished, we will be focusing all of our time on our lorekeeper, so that we can do events more readily and allow for members to acquire myos and traits over time.
We are looking for volunteers to help us with this project, but there is also a paid position. Volunteers will receive species items, like myos, as a thank-you for their time.

You approach the dilapidated barrier standing alone amidst the surrounding rubble.
Each brick is enveloped in an otherworldly power, the mortar barely holding itself together under the surrounding pressure.

I'm gonna need an extra hand or two, or three, to help get this place restored back to its former glory.

You've been chosen- yes, that's right, you, to partake in this amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

INFO:
- Event ends February 1st 11:59 pm Hawaiian time.
- After the event ends, tickets from this event will be voided, however items bought with the tickets will not be. 
Remember to spend your tickets!
- In order to use purchased traits, you must use them on an Amoebud who has evolved a nucleus. This is any Amoebud considered "Nuclear".
- Once a trait has been used on an Amoebud, it will be listed on the Amoebud's masterlist entry under 
"Nuclear traits" and the trait will be removed from your bank.
- These purchased items will be trade locked, and they cannot be traded unless 
the user transfers the item to their account on the species website in the future.
- The same Amoebud used in the entry prompt must be used in the following prompts as well, but you can
use purchased traits on any Nuclear Amoebud you own.
- You may go through the entry and following prompts over again with one additional Amoebud,
allowing you to play through the event twice and evolve two Amoebuds.
The second Amoebud has to enter the event via the entry prompt as well.
- The Amoebud being drawn must belong to you.


ENTRY:
Draw your Amoebud meeting Whimsy.
Whimsy's Masterlist/Reference

- This is an entry prompt. You must complete this prompt in order to unlock the rest of the event.

- Art should be completed to match your own personal terms of being completed. Whimsy's design can be simplified if need be.
- If your Amoebud is already Nuclear, they will still have to go through the entry prompt to access the rest of the event.

REWARD:
Evolution.
Immediately grants the drawn Amoebud access to a nucleus, allowing them to be redesigned with a transparent chest. 
The drawn Amoebud will now be considered Nuclear and will be transferred to the Nuclear Masterlist.
This unlocks the next two prompts, and gives the drawn Amoebud access to applying earned nuclear traits since their DNA is now unstable.

Realization:
Unlocks after doing the entry prompt. 
Can be ignored in favor of prompt 3, "Acceptance?". 

Draw your Amoebud realizing they now have a nucleus in place of their heart.

- Art should be a colored half-body at minimum.
- If your Amoebud is already Nuclear, you may draw them at 
any point in time when they first realized they had their nucleus.

REWARD:
10 tickets

Unlocks after doing the entry prompt. 
Can be ignored in favor of prompt 2, "Realization". 

Draw your Amoebud reacting to the change. Do they help whimsy build his castle? Are they angry at him?
Perhaps they don't care at all...

- Art should be a colored half-body at minimum, and should have a simple environmental background.
Backgrounds cannot be a simplistic solid color. The background does not need to be rendered, and can be simplified.
- If your Amoebud is already Nuclear, you may draw them reacting to Whimsy asking them for help.

FAQ

Can I design an amoe just for this event?

• Yes you can! Your amoe does have to be on the masterlist in order to be used for the event. So yes, they must be submitted now & resubmitted after you apply your nuclear traits!

Can I do the event with more than one amoebud? Or is it just one entry per person?

• From the event rules "You may go through the entry and following prompts over again with one additional Amoebud, allowing you to play through the event twice and evolve two Amoebuds."

When doing the nuclear prompts, do we reply to our message on the bulletin with our separate drawings to each prompt, or all at once?

• That's up to you! You would just need to reply to your entry prompt with the two other prompts, or submit them all together.

Could we draw both Amoebuds meeting Whimsy in one image and then do the other prompts separately for them?

• You can! Just remember to list both amoebuds and reply to the same entry comment for both of their prompts.

Does art for events need to be of a certain quality?

• To quote the bulletin, “Art should be completed to match your own personal terms of being completed. Whimsy's design can be simplified if need be.”

Hello everyone!! It's been a long week for the mods, and we're happy to say that we have a Discord server ready for the species.

Along with this, we've made some updates to the main species sheet. In particular,
we've added a section all about hosts in order to maintain consistency in our world and avoid confusion in regards to traits.
You can read up on what hosts are, what they can look like, and how they live here:

This new sheet will be essential for myos going forward.

Any myos that go against the logic of this new sheet and were created before the release of this sheet are
considered "abnormal" in the world that the story takes place in.
These types of hosts can no longer be obtained.
