Superstitions
Bloodmoon In the Western Kingdoms of Leotera, there is a strange phenomenon that occurs at random intervals. The Bloodmoon, which signifies warmer temperatures in the freezing kingdom of Feyre, is a symbol of danger and disaster. Long ago, in less peaceful times, the dark creatures of Crowe, demons, devils and vampires, would take advantage of the warmed up Feyre climate to cross the border and prey on the inhabitats of Feyre and Aurorion.

Magic of Leotera

In Leotera, and throughout the four realms, magic has a system that allows it to work the way it does.

Individuals often have a specific affinity for one of the four classes (or subclasses) of magic, Elemental, Technical, Divine, or Raw. This affinity can differ base on race, genetics, or significant life events/trauma. Some individuals can have affinities for several subclasses of magic, or even several classes of magic, although this phenomenon is extremely rare. Some Affinities and Classes of Magic are listed below.

Affinities often develop at an early stage in life, anywhere between the ages of 5-8. Late development often is the result of 1 of 2 reasons: 1) MDS, also known as Magic Deficiency Syndrome, or 2) a high amount of magic energy.

Magic Energy is a separate entity that coexists with physical energy. It often responds to mental stimulation, namely emotions. The more Magic Energy an individual has, the more power they have. Magic Energy travels between the Planes of Magic, which are layers of reality that connect to one of the four classes of magic. Magic Energy can grow at different rates depending on race, with humans having the highest capacity for growing Magic Energy. An Individual sacrifices their Magic Energy for the ability to cast a spell synonymous with their affinity, which links them the matching Plane of Magic. Once all of an individual's Magic Energy has been used, they will then begin to sacrifice Physical Energy to use magic. This can be dangerous, causing severe injury and even death, if more energy than available is used.

Aurorion
A large, picturesque kingdom set between beautiful mountain ranges, Aurorion thrives off of trade with the other nations. Aurorion Diamonds, found solely in their mountain ranges, have a high capacity for enchantment, making them incredibly popular for magic items and weaponry, namely transformation crystals. This kingdom is a Matriarchy, prioritizing their Queens over their Kings. The reflective mountains and constant snow cover create a stunning landscape, making Aurorion an incredibly popular tourist destination, despite the low temperatures.
Feyre
Lying between Aurorion and Crowe, Feyre often called "The Frost Kingdom," is a small territory often overlooked, yet deadly. Sub-zero temperatures make it nearly impossible to survive, lest you were a native. Even the natives of Aurorion, the sister kingdom to Feyre, find the chill uncomfortable. However, many natives are incredibly sensitive to heat, which makes it difficult for many to leave the territory without assistance. Feyre's a military kingdom, with a strong militia, and several hidden mysteries. Often keeping to itself, not much is known about Feyre, and many keep away due to the extreme climate. Many natives speak a mix of Common Tongue and Fyrinne, a language rarely heard outside the Kingdom's borders. Their only known alliance was with Aurorion, but the connection seems to have faded with time.
