In a solar system far removed from our own, there is a tiny planet named Palokk. The inhabitants of Palokk, known as Theraptors, cover the largest continent of the otherwise water-covered planet. Each city-state has their own customs and mindsets, each adapted for different things. While some traits may be common in one city-state, they’re rare (or perhaps even completely unheard of) in the populations of another.

These mostly-boneless, gravity-manipulating, raptor-like aliens come in a variety of patterns, beliefs, and personalities- and they can even change color. (Though the changes usually aren’t too dramatic- just the evolutionary response to co-evolving alongside plant life that gradually changes color to absorb filtered, different-colored light due to the planet’s odd atmospheric gases.)

There are currently five different city-states known to the theraptors, including the largest, central state (the closest to a “capital” of Palokk) Nutruh. Theraptors from here sport most of the markings that can be found throughout the land, though some colors and patterns are far more common elsewhere.
