Welcome to Korallion Reef. Many years have passed since the reef was formed. The place, once desolate with a single coral, has now became colorful. Many bright and beautiful coral colors bloomed, and with them, Korallion appeared. A Korali can be born in two ways, through cultivation and death.
Death is the most common way a Korallion is born. When a new bud of coral breaks through the surface, the soul of a deceased is fed into the budding coral. Soon, the coral will mature and a Korallion will awaken. They describe the feeling of awakening as drowning after waking from a deep, dark slumber. They do not retain any memories from their former life, however, we can speculate what they once were based on the traits a Korallion is born with.
Cultivation is a way where Korallion can take fragments of coral, that may have chipped or fallen off living coral, and transplant them onto coral that has already begun to die. Korallion rarely do this process. It is tedious and the slightest mistake can have deadly consequences. But if successful this gives the dead coral a second chance, and thus it will be reborn.
On the other side, pollution has become dense. Korallion who've been exposed for a long period to pollution become diseased. Diseased Korallion lose the vibrant color they once held, their coral becoming dull and bleached. These Korallion are shunned and kicked out of the reef. This is caused due to the disease being highly contagious to other Korallion. Because of this, they are found roaming outside of reefs or even living under or inside trash heaps.
