Abyssomata are created from those who are lost and torn asunder by the cruel waves of the ocean, supposedly never to be seen again. Unwanted, or otherwise lured by promises of redemption by an all-powerful underwater deity, the lucky souls reborn as Sea Angels find their humanity eventually stripped and tore away by the pressure of the ocean. While these angels return to land with the naive hope of convincing others to join them in this "heaven" they've found together, being dragged into the ocean's depths isn't exactly an appealing idea to most people.

Still, why not return to the sea, where all things originate? To be swallowed by the all-consuming tide and allow your thoughts and sins be washed away in the deep?
