Written Trait Guide

Confused on something not specified on the visual trait sheet? This will hopefully clear things up!


** This is an anthro / furry friendly species! The only deadset requirement is that Trinketiers must have a humanoid face, everything else is up for creative interpretation as long as you follow the guidelines below!

[ 一 ] Material

The texture of the animal parts must all be made from at least one of these materials: minerals, metals, wood or gemstones, referred to as “source material”.

Not allowed: most organic materials / natural resources (scales, fur, feathers, flesh, soil and plants) 

You are allowed to carve markings in the material as long as it is a similar shade! (yellow & light orange, red and pink, etc.)

Liquids are a legendary trait and can only be in containers! (lemonade in a glass, coffee in a cup, etc.) 

Common

  • Wood 
  • Stone
  • “Common” minerals (andesite, calcite, marble) 
  • Some natural resources (ice and clay) 
  • One material only 

Rare

  • Gemstones 
  • “Rare” minerals (obsidian)
  • Metals (silver, gold) 
  • Up to three materials 

Legendary 

  • Contained liquids 

[ 二 ] Animals 

Trinketiers can be any animal in the Chinese zodiac, any mythical entity from any culture, any animals found in China and of course lions and tigers. 

Any skin colors are allowed, including unnatural ones! Skin color is untraited. 

Common and Rare

  • Any animal found in China 
  • Lions and tigers
  • Chinese zodiac animals 
  • One animal only (common) 

Not allowed: animals not from the list specified above

Rare Only 

  • Mix of two or more animals (hybrids) 

Legendary 

  • Mythical deities / animals from mythology
  • Mix of three or more animals 


[ 三 ] Element 

Trinketiers must have an elemental attunement that is visible in their eyes! This can be shown through the colors of the eye of the pupils of the eye. 

For example: fire element = flame-shaped pupils, red glowing eyes.. 

In legendary traits this can be replaced with the elemental powers of a celestial deity! (ex. Nezha, Ao Bing, Zeus, Apollo..) 

Note: Heterochromia and sclera color are untraited! 


Not allowed: hate symbols (I don’t know how this would be possible but please don’t do it) 

Common and Rare 

  • Basically any element you can think of excluding the below! 

Rare Only

  • Two or more elemental attunements 

Legendary 

  • Mythical creatures / animals’ powers (war, summoning serpents, etc) 


[ 四 ] Trinket 

Hence their name, all trinketiers must have a trinket made of their source material. (Trinkets can be anything -- in lore, it’s typically a family heirloom kept safe by the trinketier and is also the source of their powers!) 

Weapons like swords, shields, guns, bows etc. are all fine 👍!! 

Not allowed: symbols of hate, offensive items (you know the ones please don’t do it) anything politically related 

This is not categorized in rarity, feel free to make whatever you want as long as it follows the guidelines above!


[ 五 ] Markings/Color and Clothing 

Trinketiers either have markings created by their family on them, or wear the emblem and colors/clothing of their family . Markings are usually unique symbols or repeating patterns on their skin. It can be Chinese or English or generally any language’s characters! Please make sure it is the same color as the source material! 

**By clothing I mean traditional clothing! Ex. Hanfu, Hanbok, Sari, Kimono.. etc.! 

You can choose between a marking or clothing or you can apply both, it’s up to you. 

Not allowed: absolutely no political propaganda or speech, hate speech, offensive symbols

This is not categorized in rarity, feel free to make whatever you want as long as it follows the guidelines above!

A reference for this is not required!

The feral form of a trinketier is a statue carved from the source material of their animal!
