a fictional species of big cat with magical properties, native to the domains of land arcana. can shift between feral/quadrupedal form (typical lion build) and anthro/bipedal form (walk on two legs, have hands and opposable thumbs for humantype craft).
divided into the three subspecies of panfaera (faerie-like), pandemona (demon-like), and pangelic (angel-like), as well as the unclassed panneutroid (arcanthera born outside the dimension of the land arcana, often with natural colorations).
there are faction divisions: the faeric (their main virtue is beauty) faction, the netheric faction (their main virtue is freedom) and the aetheric (their main virtue is order) faction. there are also arcanthera with complex alignment, and arcanthera that are factionless.
