About

For decades, Kavan Mountain Ranch founders have been carefully crafting a new breed of horse to prevail in high performance and athleticism and a horse that could withstand the harsh conditions of rugged grounds and weather.

From rocky terrain to frigid conditions, this horse was bred to withstand everything. Their Quarter Horse lineage has made them excellent athletes with thick bones and defined muscles. However, their Arabian and Rocky lineage has given them the ability to be surefooted and incredible endurance athletes. Aside from physical traits, the Rocky and Beorpard lineage of the Kavan's has blessed these horses with sound minds and intelligence. They are willing to please and well-mannered, taking care of their riders and respecting their boundaries.

The Kavans are native to the Kavan Mountains. Originating in Desert landscapes, the Kavans slowly moved further north. They adapted to harsher conditions alongside the Native peoples, who used them as mounts and companions. In the end, both the stock and sport type fell extinct, leaving only the war counterpart behind.

Decades later, Larkian descendants worked to bring the lost breed back, using War Horse DNA and Native Stories and tellings to recreate the kavans you know and love today. Hardier than ever and built to survive and trek anything.
