How to Play
The Crystal Animamates storyline is presented through a series of prompts and official prose - you can see it all presented in the Official Timeline.
You participate in the story by completing prompts with your character. Each prompt will list what is required in order to complete it and earn Crystal Points. Story Quests contribute directly to the storyline, while Side Quests help round out your character. Seasonal Quests are usually just for fun and earning Crystal points, though may occaisionally place in the timeline, and they are posted regularly once a season. Flash Quests meanwhile can pop up randomly and run for a shorter time.
All quests will have an active timeframe where if you complete the quest and submit it before the deadline you will earn a higher amount of points. Once the deadline has passed, you can only earn the minimum amount of points (usually 1).
Crystal Points are used to track your progress for upgrades, and once you reach Radiant (the second tier) you can spend them in the Crystal Store to customise your senshi.
How to Submit Quests
Once you have fulfilled the art and/or writing requirements for a quest you will need to upload the art to your character's Toyhouse, then go to the relevant forum thread for the Quest you are completing and post it in a reply to the main thread.
If you are posting an image, please insert the image into the content so we can see it straight away, rather than as a link. All Main Story and Side Quests require a small written component, at least 6-8 sentences. You can post this in the body of your forum reply with the image if it's not too long, but for anything more than the minimum requirements please post it as a Literature for your character, and then link that in your quest post.
After you have posted your submission, an admin will check it out and will reply to your post once it has been counted for points, or to let you know if you're missing something.
Crystal Points
Crystal Points are the form of "Group Currency" that you can earn by doing things around the club. These points can be accumulated to either buy admin art or to buy upgrades for your senshi. There are two different types of points in this system: Crystal Points and Shards.
~ Complete your own reference sheet for your senshi: 2 crystal points (one time only).
~ Complete Side Quests.
~ Partake in all the Events - points are specified in each event.
~ Complete Story Quests.
~ Draw fanart of other Crystal Animamates: 1 point per fanart.
~ Draw your own character (not just ref sheet and outside of quests/events): 1 point per piece.
~ Help judge an event, when needed: 1 point per round of event.
~ Offer prizes for any event that may have prizes other than points: 1 Crystal Point per prize donation.
~ Be our Featured Crystal Animamate of the Month: 2 Crystal Points.
~ Nominate another member for Featured CA of the Month: 1 Crystal Point (Can only nominate once per month).
~ Complete a detailed written work (Must be at least 1000 words) : 1 Crystal Point

lease note, all artworks must be "finished" works in order to be counted for points. At the very least fully lined and flat colours. Lineart/sketches and WIPS will not be counted.
The points you earn can help you buy upgrades for your senshi. This upgrade system will work in Tiers based on how many crystal points you've accumulated.
Tiers
- Shining = 0-19 Crystal Points
- Radiant = 20-39 Crystal Points + must complete "Upgrade!" Quest in order to make your new upgrade canon within the story.
- Brilliant= 40-74 Crystal Points + must have completed 3 Story Quests, and "Brilliant Light" Quest (Quest not yet unlocked) in order to make your new upgrade canon within the story.
- Legendary = 75 Crystal Points + must have completed 5 Story Quests and 5 Side Quests as well as "Legendary Soul" Quest (Quest not yet unlocked) in order to make your new upgrade canon within the story.
The tiers are automatically unlocked when you reach the required amount of points and completed the required amount of quests (for higher tiers only), but an admin will message you when you are eligible for your upgrade. Please do not upgrade without being notified first, this is how we keep track!
Additionally, your points do not deplete when you upgrade Tiers. This means that you do NOT have to gain the 40 points needed for Brilliant, only 20 are needed from Radiant to Brilliant and so forth! HOWEVER, do keep in mind that any embellishments/modification that you buy with your points DO deplete you points total, and you must earn those back to make it to the next Tier. They do not reset your level though, even if you fall below the point markers. EG: Sailor Ruby Salamander has earned 25 points, and she has now unlocked Radiant Tier! She spends 15 points to get additional upgrades besides the unlocked bonuses, meaning she now has a total of 10 points banked. She must now earn 30 in order to unlock Brilliant Tier.
