Opayans* are a peaceful race of giants, previously living on their own planet, Ni’Adi**. This planet was the moon of mercury with a population count of about 10 million. It was thrown out of orbit and into the sun due to a collision with long-lost human space debris most likely from the Trials of Apollo.

They were alerted of the impending danger almost 3 years before the collision and started preparing to leave the planet. They crafted five large sea vessels like airships and stocked them with enough supplies and resources to last. Initially, en route to the planet Venus, they discovered the atmosphere to be very hazardous and one vessel was unfortunately pulled into its orbit and never seen again.

Their next choice was Earth, though considerably farther than they had intended to travel. Another ship was unable to make it due to a lack of resources (fuels). Three of the five vessels made it safely to earth, landing in the North Atlantic Ocean and sailing onward to find land. They happened upon an undiscovered island near Iceland they called Topocuta*** where they lived peacefully once again, until being discovered by humans.

European explorers found their camps and other-worldly technology. The Opayans were too trusting, they had never experienced a world where everyone couldn’t be trusted. They let these strangers into their lives with such great intentions not knowing how evil they truly were. While the Opayans were hosting feasts in their honor, the Europeans were poisoning their food. While the Opayans were using their powers to cure the explorer's ailments, the Europeans where inviting new sicknesses to run rampant, spreading quickly and destroying these giants. It was only a matter of time before the Opayans were outnumbered, and though they were great in size, they had become weak. The Europeans then started to attack the Opayans, they hunted them like animals. Before long every Opayan was gone, or so it was thought.
