Pronunciation: Pair-a-rin
Plural: Pararrin
Collective: A flight of Pararrin

A small, mana-based vampiric species native to Oeria.

Pararrin are created when large amounts of mana fuse with unusually large gatherings of spirits. The group of spirits then fuse with the mana and they, as a group, are then reborn as a single Pararrin.

It is rare that a Pararrin keep any full memories of their times in the living, but some will occasionally have short visions or flashbacks to important memories from their previous lives. It is difficult or often impossible to know what sort of beings they were born from with this information, though, as the individual spirits that were gathered to create them may have led wildly different lives, and most often are even from quite distant timelines.

Though they are undead in nature, it is quite known that most Pararrin are quite docile., choosing to feed only from those that to allow them to. Of course, there are some rare instances of particularly hostile individuals.

They are a species largely known for their magical prowess, as their physiology does not allow them to become particularly strong physically compared to other Oerian species. A Pararrin’s magical strength can usually be determined by how many gems are on it’s tail (including the pointed gem). Each Pararrin is capable of using their basic form and a humanoid form. Pararrin that have at least 2 tail gems are able to use a Beastial form as well.

Since they are technically undead, Pararrin do not have any set life span; they are able to survive so long as the mana they gather is able to sustain them and may technically live hundreds or even thousands of years.

Traits

Notes:
-> animal-like traits do not have to exactly mimic an existing animal so long as it is clearly a trait that serves the usual noted purpose
(i.e: an ear can have a more wing-like or lobed shape as long as it is clearly an ear meant for hearing and not an actual wing)
-> traits do not have to be from matching animals
