A small hidden village in Mexico ruled by a King and Queen who all live hidden behind painted faces. This village lacks modern entities such as the internet, electronic devices, etc. However, the residents of this village have learned the secrets of using magic.

The village wasn't always hidden, in fact before the village of De la Noche was open to everyone. They use to welcome travelers with gifts, food, and entertainment. The village rarely received visitors so they appreciated them whenever they came around, at times they would even teach their guest(s) how to use magic. Until one day a man took advantage of the small village and tried to obtain the magic all for himself. A young man and woman fought the stranger off and banished him and any future travelers from their village. They were rewarded for their bravery and were appointed the King and Queen of De la Noche. By using their magic, they hid off the village and even banned the use of modern technology to prevent any wanderers from trespassing onto their village.

De La Noche

Foundation

Long ago, on the days of Dia de Los Muertos, a few migrants stayed on an empty space of land on the way to their next settlement. They stayed in the area to camp out and pay respects to their long gone ancestors. However, they were greeted by skeleton-faced natives. Wondering where these natives come from, they celebrated together and shared joy amongst each other. On the final night of the holiday the migrants felt at home on the land and decided to stay which warmed the hearts of the natives. Though as the migrants began to settle down, the natives turned out to be spirits who guarded the land which harbored a flower that contained a source of magical abilities. The spirits approved of the settlers and granted them the land and its flowers so that they could become the next guardians. They would protect not only the land and its magic, but raise future generations to do the same. As a way to pay respect to the spirits, they use permanent face paint with essence of the flower in order to gain the magical stamina. The face paint is a permanent reminder of their founders and the guardian spirits.
It was named "De la Noche", Of the Night, because it was the time of day when the spirits gave them the land and their powers.
