Physics/nature

  • Are the laws of nature/physics different to earth? Elaborate.
They all remain the same--however, the gravity is more than that on Earth. Earth's gravity is 9.807 m/s² while Rhythmetic's Gravity is a solid 11 m/s². However, while this would essentially cause a world-ending crisis on Earth -- this has been Rhythematic's natural Gravity since as long as people can remember/walked the very world.

The most important Law of Nature is not Gravity, instead, it's the Law of Rhythm as people's actions, how they do, what do they, && where their energy comes from heavily intertwines with the magic of the said world. (This pendulum-like effect && how well one grasp's it heavily reflects upon how well they bond with their spirits && how their magic comes into play.)

The law of physics remains the same, however! Unlike Earth, there is one more Law--the Law of Spirits. Discovered by Lucis Soul--the founder of many magic schools && acknowledged as the Foundation for spirit bonding itself--&& written down the law states that every people's own subconscious wishes && feelings will manifest as a being/person/thing && cannot change once its manifests unless messed with by outside forces. It, also, states, that once a person's spirit disappears/dies it can no longer take form && will dramatically weaken one's magic as they can no longer tape into their hidden potential without outside help.
  • Are there multiple suns/moons?
Rhythmetic has one sun, Reiz, but two moons, one smaller named: Mune, the other, larger: Sueon.

Pronounced: Reiz, Moon, && Sue-eon.

  • Describe the sky during the day.
Bright- but a fairly deep blue. Most technology, if not nearly all technology, doesn't emit carbon, so most air threatening pollutants would come from fire spells/machine breaks. Usually, it's cloudy, however, so while it is a nice day out--more often then not, it'll be a little fresh/ breezy as well.
  • Describe the night sky.
Brighter. The stars are there, but the moons, both of them, continue to reflect the sun rays, so the nights--aren't ever entirely dark, so to speak. A brighter sky, with dark purples, painted, stars flicking, but only the BRIGHTEST, stars shine. The rest? They're out there, hidden, lesser important. There's never been a fully dark night, these people don't KNOW pitch skies.

Rumors used to fly that these single unseeing stars, used to power forms of magic, boosting it rather, but who knew nowadays.

  • What is the climate like?
Questionably bad to an Earthling, fairly normal to someone who lives there. Mountain ranges high, Earthquakes frequent, frozen && chilled water, active volcanoes spewing out gases && sulfur.

It's cold, but it's home.

  • What is the weather like?
Depending on the season, fairly warmer or fairly colder than Earth's seasons. But to a denizen of this world? Fairly normal.
  • What are the seasons like? How many / how long?
The moons, having a slightly erratic pattern, also cause the seasons to change at seemingly random. Technology is being worked on to stabilize these moons but only so much can be done for things so far.
  • What are the birds like?
Big. Powerful. Strong. They've adapted to harsher winds, to "dark" days with smoke && sulfur in the air. Stronger lungs. Most birds, in fact, have adapted && gained a sort of poison generation/poison immunity. Wildly different colors, long lost in time, now most are instead the colors of venomous snakes, warning of their poison, warning if fought or eaten--it'll lead to a fairly bad time.
  • What are the small animals like?
Compared to sky-predators, cleaner. Smaller, those whose lives revolve around the day, tend to be a bit monotone in colors, darker pelted to hide easier amongst the ash-stricken && debris-ridden ground.

Those nocturnal, however, have slightly brighter pelts, to take advantage of brighter nights. Collectively, prey-folk are incredibly skittish && connected to the earth heavily in the way humans aren't, able to predict natural disasters && evacuating before it strikes.

Most schools keep small prey just in case, living Richter meters in some cases.
  • What are the large animals like?

Slow-moving. Hard to explain. Long years have led most, if not all different animals to move together in herds. Unlike sky-animals or prey-folk, those between while seemingly having the short end of the stick--don't.

They have their own forms magic, casting shadows, making duplicates of themselves, they look the most regular to Earth-like animals despite the clear differences.
