Jargon

  2. Some of these terms are pre-existing words, to which a second definition relevant to Psiridea has been added.
    Where relevant, both meanings will be reported.

Psiridea /sɪˈɹiːdjæ/, /sɪɹiˈdeɑ/
(n.) The ethereal system of mental interconnection central to our research. Coined by the First Doctor and Patient Zero, a portmanteau of psych, irid/iris, and idea or dea.

psiridic, psirid-, psirido- /sɪˈɹɘːdɘk/, /ˈsɪːɹɘd/, /ˈsɪɹɘdoʊ/
(adj.) Of or relating to Psiridea.

eidolon (pl. eidola; abbrev. eido)
(n.) (greek lit.) The spirit-image or incorporeal look-alike of a person.
(n.) (psirid.) The projection-extension of a user that forms their expanded psiridic self.

physicality
(n.) the quality, condition or state of being physical.
(n.) (psirid.) the collective attributes and traits that make up the real life self. Usually used in opposition to the eidolon and otherwise psiridically defined features of the self.

oneiron
(n.) (greek) dream.
(n.) (psirid.) the dream plane.
oniric, oneiro-: of a dream; of anything dreamlike and surreal.

mindscape
(n.) The range of a person's thoughts and imagination; mental landscape or inner vision.
(n.) (psirid.) A casual term for Psiridea's shared ethereal connection.

multimediatic
multimediatic communication: a form of communication that consists of multiple thoughts of different formats being simultaneously and directly shared with the interlocutor, from sensory impressions to sequences of logical reasoning to entire memories. A naturally occurring way in which psiridic users interact.

specialist
(n.) someone who concentrates primarily on a certain subject, topic or activity; someone highly skilled in a given field.
(n.) (psirid.) an expert user who has specialized in one or more sectors of Psiridea's dynamics. Specializations include but are not limited to dreamscaping, though-construct engineering, immersive therapy and traumagenic cleansing.
