The Siamur Species
THE NESTING SPECIES20073042_1l2a7TZBSx5NcMs.png

Soft and graceful, the Siamur species is one of fantasy and myth among humans. It was long-thought to be the stuff of legends, and sightings were few and far between. Siamur are, by nature, shy and secluded. Their bodies were fragile and moth-like generally, and their eggs extremely fragile. Thin walls of a crystal-like substance, covered in a velvet texture, they glistened in the sun, hung carefully in the treetops of Earth's jungles, far from human reach. Or that is what the Siamur had hoped at least. . .

The dense jungles and rain-forests that the Siamur called home eventually were discovered and dissected by humans. Some were leveled, others were simply explored incessantly. The Siamur harbored no ill-will to these curious creatures, they simply wanted to be left alone. They moved over and over, deeper into the jungles, higher into the trees, but Human curiosity proved deadly to their race. Anxiety and fear at being discovered or destroyed plagued the poor species, and it was in this state that the Khle'ahd found them.

Siamur gladly accepted the offer of life within the Archipelago, eager to have a place to safely nest in peace. The species was moved as a whole, even the current eggs were transported instantly to the lush forests of the North-Eastern Continent. As they were pulled through the mists into the new world however, the Siamur felt an intense shift in their being.

The anxiety and fragility of their current state was gripped by the cosmos, and mirrored against them, hardening their bodies and minds at once. Their eyes widened with wonder and amazement at the new world, having suddenly found themselves blessed with the same intelligence and curiosity as the humans they were fleeing from. The Khle could not explain this change, and simply told them that the cosmos work in mysterious ways.

The Siamur now have thicker skin and hardened bones, flying with a mixture of magic and the use of their detached wings in tandem now. Their previously animal-like intelligence level has grown to that of a human-level, complete with the capability of love, wisdom and curiosity. Their plight has not been lost on them however, and they indulge their curiosity with a gentleness, afraid of disturbing the peace around them as humans had disturbed them.

20072991_P2AZJsim16MbyJS.pngThis is true of the species in general however, as there are always unique instances, and individual beliefs and ideals are always a possibility. Some Siamur grew to resent the humans for displacing them, while others still held fear, vowing never to leave the Archipelago again.Overall however, many of the Siamur found understanding of the humans in their shift, and use the Archipelago purely as a nesting site, returning to Earth afterwards with the help of the Khle. Returning to explore the world they'd once lived on, and some of them even befriending and living among the humans. As it stands however, no-matter the Siamur's beliefs, nesting on earth at this time is nearly unheard of, and would pose a significant risk to the infant. It is also unknown what would happen to the mind-state of a Siamur hatchling that had not been exposed to the cosmos that so drastically changed their mindset as a whole. This... is up to interperetation, and should be handled with care.

Physical Appearance

Their appearance is that of a long soft griffin type creature. They have six cat-like legs with opposable thumbs. They have large eyes and hard beaks.
They have Four to Eight wings each that hover just off their back.
Their colors, shape and markings are very diverse, and can be modeled after moths or butterflies found in earth-nature, or else be completely unique in origin!Although they are a physical creature, they do have magical tendencies, and can have integrated themes as well, such as paper wings, marble beaks, or stone pawpads. Diet : Omnivorous: They hunt fish and small water and ground creatures, however their favorite snacks are fruits and berries, especially coconut milk, which they are able to obtain by crushing the whole coconut in their beak.
Behavior : Cunning, Swift and Quiet. Hatchlings often play-fight and 'stalk' each-other's tails through the brush.
