Set in a world like our own, humankind was on the uphill of technology and breakthroughs for science. Finding out there were other worlds caused
them to focus on building machines to open a gateway to these worlds, with the intent of building their empire past Earth. Yeah, that's right.
Earth was overcrowded and they needed a place to go. Whatever else they found they'd decide with later.

When they finally got it right, they opened a gateway.

Some creatures came through the gateway into our world. I say creatures, because, well... They looked mostly human. Aliens, you know, from another world.
They came offering gifts and assistance with our needs, saying we could do the unimaginable. They were very excited about their new kinship with
humans and wanted to solidify their relationship.

The humans of course hated new things and felt threatened, but they accepted. They were planning to take their gifts then kill them.
The creatures offered nine gems, each allowing the holder to have unimaginable powers, giving them a list of rules so the gems abuses and worked.
That's when things went horribly wrong.

With the godly powers, the government used it to slaughter the new 'friends'. Anything new was a threat, they said, and after the slaughter they brought the
gems to scientists, forcing them to find ways to unlock the secrets of the gems. There was only nine gems, but they wanted entire armies with powers!
After all, they still wanted to conquer the world in which they had come from to rebuild. They needed to be prepared.

The scientists weren't into the idea, because they liked the aliens and wanted to find out more about their world, but they worked around
 the clock to find a way to unlock the secret of the gems.

Well, they found out how.
When they broke one of the gems open, it released it power into the world.
There was no turning back. They had opened pandora's box.

eight years til now.

Zeref, one of the sons from the slaughtered aliens, found his parents dead with the gifts they had given to the humans. In a rage, he flew through
the gateway to Earth, killed a few of the people there, and destroyed the gateway as collateral. He saw the broken gem and gathered up the remaining eight,
then turned to go back home. If the humans couldn't handle the gifts, he'd take them back... but then he noticed he had accidentally destroyed his way back home.

If he couldn't leave then he needed to hide the gems.

He build his palace above the ocean, watching as the humans descended into their madness, fighting each other as their world changed.

It was his goal to find a way home as well as protecting the gems he had hidden all over the world.

The landscapes mostly stayed the same. Cities, towns, and lands without technology played their own parts in the world, but everywhere was affected.
The people, well, mostly sort of the same except they were divided. There were the normal, average people who worked their jobs to provide for the rest.
Then there were the Aberrations, people that were affected by the gems and were given powers. Because they got their powers from a broken gem, they powers
were far less than what one would have if they held a gem, which was said to have god like power. Most people believe that one who holds a gem becomes a god and
has every power known to man. Because of this, people have started a giant search for the gems, fighting each other along the way. People grouped together and eventually made 'clans'.

Aberrations often times were in 'clans', big organizations.
Aberrations divided by the type of power they had:

- Animal (shifter)

- Hybrid (half human half animal)

- Ability (super strength, speed, flight)

- Mental (phsycics)

- Hydra ( duo powers were very rare )

- Mundane (normal humans with no power)
- Foreign (aliens, cosmic)
- Spiritual

Of course, sometimes there were smaller clans with a mix, depending on the people they found and the area they lived in.
Sometimes there were 'rogues', where they didn't pledge to a clan due to various reasons.

Normal people who wanted to find these gems either grouped together or worked alone.
Everyone is just trying to survive or find the gems.

Aberrations = Powerful People
Mundanes = Normal People
Pure Aberration = Person with a Gem

Any human type is allowed!
Aliens accepted.

IMPORTANT! ANY POWERS MUST HAVE A BALANCE, MORE SO THAN WE'RE USED TO.
They must have a hindrance along with their strength.
The only thing they can have ultimate power without weakness is through the gems.
