Standard Candles' overarching historical plot centers on the conflict between cyberpunk multiversal political blocs and the looming threat of paranormal apocalypse. FUMI + LAZAMI + SAKU + HANG
Fumi and her girlfriends are making a getaway from Fumi's home cosmos to strike their fortunes (or a better living, anyway) among the more bustling worlds along the Rubija sector's stargate highway. They're on their way to meet a friend, whose name is Sicha, in the harbor-polis of Dihaba - she's a main mechanic at the Utter South 17th shop, located in one of the ports around the city's south pole - to get Fumi's commuter-rockhopper (personal spacecraft) patched up and then get on their way to the real city they'll be scoping out apartments and arrangements in. They are all trans lasses too, and pretty gay for each other.

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JUMPTENDER CMFV 7792XR
One day a jumptender disappears, carrying important officials from both sides of a real heated rivalry in Sifaks. Tensions start to boil over as both sides suspect the other, or possibly a number of other bitter rivals, of masterminding the scheme as part of a broader grand strategy. Although the case between the two directly involved rival factions at least seems muddied by the fact that both sets of officials were pretty important for either side to throw away for the sake of taking down the other group, the preliminary investigation by space travel authorities indicates that the ship had to have been under manual / purposeful control as it went off course and progressively slipped away from tracking. Our protagonists are now saddled with finding out what happened, and as they get further into the case it gets weirder and more paranormal...

NIRVA + DEVINE + VESPER
Nirva and Devine are a pair of transgirl sociologists / archaeologists from the United Cantons of Caloocan who by day carry out ethnographic studies and dig up old habitats and stuff for the academic cheddar, but moonlight as rumor-chasers looking for a semi-mythical "picnic world", a realm filled with immensely powerful, dangerous items of unknown origin in search of a way to claw back their boyfriend, vesper, from the grips of mysterious entities that stole him away one fateful night, leaving behind a body with a wiped cyberbrain and a trail of occult clues. With no help forthcoming from the constables, their friend, the neighborhood discount neurotechnician and local paranormal guru, helps them enlist the aid of a pair of digital witches, private detectives with deep and strange connections to the world-spirits.
