Code of Conduct

Rules

  1. Be Kind—To foster a welcoming community, it is important to be kind to one another. Treat others with respect and encouragement. Hate speech is not tolerated, but it's equally important to go into conversations without being a jerk. Dissent and criticism are still allowed; be gentle when offering it.
  2. Be Inclusive—This community will have a variety of members from a variety of backgrounds, and I hope we will welcome them all. Do not post not safe for work (NSFW) content; this includes nudity, discussion of sexual acts/themes, and extreme violence/gore. Some swearing is fine and will probably happen involuntarily, but try not to swear excessively and avoid the hardest swears if you can. Hateful content and bigotry is not tolerated.
  3. Be Charitable—If someone goes against these guidelines, don't jump to the assumption that they have cruel or malign intent. Assume that everyone here is trying their best and be gentle. If you feel uncomfortable or heated, contact a moderator to intervene and take a step back.
  4. Be Good—Do your best to post your best work and thoughts. Take time to answer questions so you can articulate the best answers, and share art that you're proud of.
  5. Be Accountable—If, for some reason, a moderator tells you to take a step back, reflect on the incident. It's okay to mess up; it offers an opportunity to reflect on yourself and grow better. Hold yourself to account for your actions and come back a better person.
