Step by Step - How one is made

Step 1: Pick a Video Game Console you like
This includes alternate coloured versons, special editions, modified, ect

Step 2: Combine with an animal species or more
Many Gamefurs of two species can have floating plastic ears alongside their actual ears.

Step 3: Imagine how you'll incorperate the console's design
You can put the parts of the console anywhere you think will make sense. Two Gamefurs usually won't look exactly the same.

Step 4: Draw or write up the character!

Species Traits

  • Geometric Legs
  • Controller Arms/Paws (multiple arms if multiple controllers are in)
  • Inbuilt Screens as eyes (optional)
  • Console built into the body
  • Floating secondary Ears (optional)
  • Anthro of one or two animals

Types - Breeds of Gamefur

Image of two Dreamcast Demo Kiosk Gamefurs. On the left is official, having a design based compleatly on the console. On the right is a Defective, who is more furry-like than machine.

OP Official - Built to look and play exactly like they're supposed to.

SO Defective - Gamefurs who either where made accidentally, or came out wrong on the factory line.
Defects may include: Unofficial colours, Missing Controller Paws, being unable to play Games or having console glitches, being less machine and more furry, having no fur, missing body parts or multiple body parts on a console that makes no sense to have, or no geometric feet.

SO Bootleg - Not made by the Gamefur company.
Can either look weird or similar enough to an official Gamefur not to be sued. Can be based off a real or fictional console.

Abilities - What can these bad boyes do?

Protector Form Gamefurs. Left Official, right Defective.

Protector Form- A mode that Gamefurs only activate under extreme cercumstances. They change to look more like a robotic personification of their console, and can fight. Not all Gamefurs have one, but those who do are usually given one to protect their owner.

Defects often in this form have trouble controlling when going into it, and can experience memory loss.

Bootlegs are so different from each other, it's hard to say what they might look like. For all we know, they might transform into Bart Simpson with Winnie the Poo's head.

Controller Arms - The arms of a Gamefur on some consoles can be removed, replaced with new ones or have more connected.
As long as the console has the slots for it, you can have up to 4 or more players!

Be used as a real Console- Either hooked up to a Monitor, or just turned on by the switch.
On handheld, or Gamefurs with build-in screens, you can see the game on it.

How to get a Semi-Open?

Legit just ask me. We can work on the idea together if you aren’t sure how it’d fit into Gamefur cannon.

Semi-Opens are only really Gamefurs by name, so you're kinda just asking me permission to have them be one even if they don't look exact ahaha.

Lore!

Official Gamefurs are made by the Gamefur Company, made case by case giving them all a somewhat different look to each other, improving one by one with how they're made.

Game Companies commission out Gamefur Co, and over a year long process (that's very secretive) a Gamefur is created and sent out.

Many are used for promotional meterial, interacting with the public, or sold off to select people as an Android would.
