"Feel no misery, Come and visit me, Welcome to Mystery"
Rosebrook started as a background location for one of my earlier stories that never really saw the end; it was mysterious, out of the blue, answer to the protagonist's desires that never got outside of their family.
Since then, it has evolved into this catch-all be all set that fits whatever I need it for. Still, it has its little self-contained plot and characters.
Rosebrook started as a flat back piece for a story that didn't end up going anywhere. The town's features that I described at the time were the river that ran through town and the identical houses with large rose bushes. A few characters and the camp setting remain, in the 'character' and 'setting' tab respectively.
While the main inspiration may seem like 'Welcome to Nightvale', and I did use that as a springboard for the longest time; the inspiration later sifted to the small town I grew up in. A lot of the places are either similar or downright copies (like in the case of the rose garden). Or else thing's I wished my town still had (a decent mall).
The main aesthetic is roses and paranormal experiences.
