THE PLANET LOSH:
Losh is very similar to Earth in size and atmosphere. Losh has all of the same types of biomes found on Earth as well as some others, such as mushroom forests, hanging forests, and sky islands.

Losh has 3 moons that orbit the planet: Tivos (red), Eiros (blue), and Kuvos (gold). These moons have ties to the Muuna's magic.

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: Muuna can be mammalian, reptilian, avian, or aquatic. They reproduce depending on which of those categories they fall under. They are always vertebrates and require oxygen to live. Most land-dwelling Muuna are bipedal. All Muuna (aside from Null-Moons) have power gems somewhere on their body. These gems can show up anywhere, but most commonly develop on the Muuna's wrists, shoulders, chest, forehead, or lower back. The color of their gems reflects the color(s) of their birth moon(s). CULTURE: Muuna are social creatures that form tribes. Neighboring tribes are often interconnected and will come to each other's aid when needed. Conflict among tribes is rare, but not unheard of. Disputes are often solved without the use of violence. THE CREATION OF ONE'S MASK: As a coming of age ritual, Muuna are to construct their own mask. That mask will be worn for the rest of their life, unless it is destroyed in combat. Muuna make their masks out of many materials, such as wood, bone, metal, or stone. Usually, the material they use depends on what resources are available in their area. The mask is meant to represent themselves spiritually, like a totem. A Muuna without a mask probably means one of two things: That they are looking for a mate, whether to simply breed with or to start a romantic relationship with. This is done to "show one's self" to their potential mates, and is seen as a sign of openness and trust. That their mask was lost or damaged in combat. If a Muuna's mask breaks, they may decide to repair it. Some repair the mask to look the same, and some use the opportunity to alter their mask to reflect change in their life. Repairing one's mask with metals or gold through Kintsukuroi is also fairly common. If a Muuna loses their mask entirely, they will most likely refrain from making a new one, as one is not necessarily supposed to replace one's representation of spirit. The main exception to this is if a Muuna were to have a near-death experience, or to die and be revived. In that case, their "new chance" at life is a valid reason to re-create their totemic mask. GENDER, SEXUALITY, AND ROMANCE: Muuna do not equate one's gender with their body in any way. To them, self expression is meant to be freeform. Many Muuna are polyromantic and/or polysexual. Sex and relationships are not a taboo subject; They are raised at an early age to understand their bodies. Muuna do not necessarily have to wear clothes. Some tribes do not bother with clothes, but decorate with accessories. Some tribes take pride in their colorful and fanciful outfits. Sometimes whether they wear clothes just depends on their resources and climate. THE THREE MOONS MAGIC: All Muuna have the capability to harness magic. A Muuna's magic powers do not come from themselves, but from the planet Losh and its moons. A Muuna's strongest affinity will depend on what moon they were born under, and what moon is closest to them in the sky at the time of casting. MAGIC OF TIVOS: Muuna born under Tivos are known to be haughty, outgoing, and sometimes brash. Children of Tivos are natural adventurers and thrill-seekers. Tivos' magic is known to be the most challenging to harness, as it is known to be chaotic in nature. Tivosi casters are not taught to control the chaos, but to flow with it. MAGIC OF EIROS: Muuna born under Eiros are known for their discipline, self-sustainability, and focus. Eirosi Muuna are often more quiet and reserved in personality. Eiros' magic is not as difficult to call upon, but in order to fully control and comprehend Eirosi magic, it requires deep focus. Eirosi casters meditate often to keep their mind free of distraction. MAGIC OF KUVOS: Muuna born under Kuvos are known for their creativity and quick wits. Kuvosi Muuna are like Tivosi Muuna in that they love to explore, but instead of seeking thrills, they seek knowledge. Kuvosi magic is incredibly easy to call upon. However, the most important aspect of Kuvosi magic is the ability to spell-weave. Kuvosi magic is gathered in "components", each one akin to an ingredient in a recipe. There are infinite possibilities for Kuvosi spells, one just needs to know the correct way to piece them together. DOUBLE AND TRIPLE MOON MUUNA: Each moon orbits in the same direction around Losh, but at a different speed. Thus, double or triple lunar eclipses can occur. Dual-Born and Tri-Born Muuna inherit traits and powers from both or all of their birth moons. Tri-Born Muuna are extremely rare, and can be incredibly powerful and brilliant. Dual-Born and Tri-Born Muuna have uniquely colored power gems; Their gem color depends on the moons they were born under. One born under Tivos and Eiros would have a purple or indigo colored gem. One born under Kuvos and Eiros would have a green or yellow-green gem. One born under Kuvos and Tivos would have an orange gem. These colors can vary in terms of saturation or brightness. Tri-Born Muuna can have any color power gems. Their gems can sometimes have multiple colors in a single gem (like an opal), have different nodes be different colors, or have their gems be color-changing. These traits are most common in Tri-Born Muuna, but Dual-Born Muuna can sometimes inherit them as well. NULL-MOON MUUNA: It is also possible that a Muuna be born while no moon is present in the sky. This is rare, as Muuna births happen because of lunar gravitational effects. A Muuna born under a "Null Moon" will usually be the effect of a strange birth, usually caused by illness or injury to the pregnant Muuna. (Though not always!) Many Null-Moons die because of this, but rarely some do survive. Other than the circumstances of their birth, they can grow up perfectly healthy. Null-Moons are sometimes seen as outcasts among tribes. Because Null-Moons do not have any power gems, they have a harder time communing with the magic of the moons, and therefore must be more diligent and determined in order to reach the same levels of power as regular Muuna. Null-Moons tend to differ wildly in color compared to their parents. These differing colors do not show up until they reach a certain age.
