The world was in ruin

Everyone we loved, everyone we knew turned against us

Hearts were broken, dreams shattered, blood covered the ground

Some of them left, without a word, without the last "good-bye"

Some of us did the same, sneaking out in the middle of the night while there was still something left of who we once were

He tried to fix it; tried to tamper with forces no mortal should be allowed to

He tried to turn back time, prevent all of this from happening

But Death was vigiliant; It knew the consequences; It intervened

It always does

We woke up in a new world, quieter and whole

Only few of us remained, brand of Death burnt into our skin

It gave us a gift, a new start

And we took it graciously, still broken, still in pain

But hopeful one day we will see sun again
