what are numsabi?
Numsabi are type of swimming crustacean largely found on the ocean floor, as well as other oceanic structures. Although not naturally found in freshwater, they can survive in it.
Considered a delicacy, Numsabi are hunted for their delicious umami flavor. Despite their popularity, this species manages to remain quite mysterious. Many conspiracists believe they are an alien species, some even assure there have been instances of Numsabi eating humans in self defense. Could this be true?
These multicolored shellfish are hyper-intelligent creatures, although extremely shy and nervous. Many have taken to living on land, hiding in plain sight, to avoid being eaten.

Chilly Forecast - Prepare for Winter
Best adapted to warm waters, Numsabi do not look forward to the wintry part of the year. Although Numsabi can survive in colder temperatures, they thrive in warmth. Previously, the species had to migrate to the other part of the world to avoid freezing temperatures, but they evolved to be able to withstand them. Now it’s just a little uncomfortable.
Draw or write about your Numsabi or an NPC preparing for winter. Whether that is moving to a different country, stockpiling canned soup, burying itself in blankets or anything else that will help it survive through the winter!
You may only enter this prompt once! All participants will be awarded 50 bait, currency which can be used to buy items from our shop!
HOW TO ENTER:
Draw or write about an NPC, your own Numsabi or someone else’s Numsabi getting ready for winter!
DRAWING RULES:
- All art must be SFW! No blood or gore allowed for this event!
- Your work must at least be a half-body featuring a Numsabi. It must have simple shading and be lineless or have clean line art.
- Feature at least one prop in your art!
- Your work must reflect the prompt!
WRITING RULES:
- All written work must be SFW! Moderate cursing is ok.
- Your work must be a minimum of 700 words. Going below the minimum is fine as long as it’s not more than 50 words.
- Your writing must feature at least one Numsabi!
- Your work must reflect the prompt!
