Welcome to Keiomon!

    • Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the world of Keiomon! My name is Mo Magnolia, and I’m here to tell you about this super awesome, cute compact game that everyone should be talking about! I’ve partnered with Kei-Corp to show you the joy of these little bundles of cuteness. This compact game is suitable for ALL ages, from the littlest of babies to the oldest of phoenixes. I’ve been playing for a couple of years, and when I’m stressed, my Kei never fail to make me smile.

    • What ARE Kei?

      Kei are the creatures you help raise and grow in Keiomon! Kei—pronounced like Kay—hatch from eggs, and there are multiple types, species, and breeds, though there are some universal traits, such as having two legs... but they can evolve into all kinds of fantastical creatures despite some of their limitations! Most of them have what's called a "plummit" or "bobber";

Bobbers allow a Kei to express their emotions at you more easily, making them easier to raise. Plummits are more like solid objects, so they can't tell you how they're feeling... an experienced Kei handler will know how to make their Kei happy without the guiding squish of a bobber, so it's a good idea to look at behaviors apart from the bobber, to prepare yourself for plummits. There’s even an extensive housing system where you can decorate with furniture to make your Kei as happy as possible! Even something as simple as the clothes they wear can influence the way they evolve... and so can playing with other Kei!

The appearance of any individual Kei can vary widely, and changes depending on any number of factors—what food they’re given, what toys they play with, what they learn, the way they’re treated by Kei and owner alike… the combinations of Kei are countless, so you might never see the same Kei twice! Unless, of course, you're lucky enough to hatch twins... I've heard that you can even get triplets!

Everyone starts out with four starter eggs that will hatch a randomized, basic type of Kei. They're basically a blank slate to play around and figure out how to play the game! They're special, because they're able to breed more often than normal Kei, at the expense of being pretty standard as far as Kei go. Rumor has it that you can actually create a Kei that looks just like you... but that will take a lot of love and care, and you definitely won't get one by keeping to the basics forever!

    • Multiplayer

Even though Keiomon is fun on its own, it REALLY shines when you play it with friends! Just use each others' friend code (found in the main menu) to add your friends, and you can visit their garden and see them any time you want!

Friends can provide benefits such as watering plants, playing with Kei to make them happier, and trading eggs you might not have been able to get before. Trading in Keiomon is as easy as tapping your compact with anothers after selecting the Kei you want to trade! You can also trade furniture, food, and even entire houses this way! There are even some Kei that can only be obtained by trading… so make sure to make some friends, or start adopting at the Kei-Mart! Getting tips from your friends is a great way to advance your own Kei gardens.

    • The Kei-Mart

As you play Keiomon, you'll earn a currency known as "Keys". This currency is universal through the game, and is how you buy anything you can get your hands on! Playing with Kei, watering flowers, visiting friends... anything can earn you some Keys, so as long as you're playing the game, you'll have a great time! Keys can be spent at the Kei-Mart.

The main function of the Kei-Mart is to buy food, eggs, accessories, seeds, furniture, flowers... anything your Kei might need to be the happiest Kei in the world! Kei don't actually need to eat, but feeding them their favorite fruit will raise their happiness by a lot... so if you want a happy Kei, you should experiment to see which fruit they like best!

Another feature of the Kei-Mart is an adoption center where you can buy “mystery eggs”. These are eggs that will hatch into a completely random baby Kei! If you connect to the surfnet, you can adopt mystery eggs from other players that have donated them, and even have your Kei play with one another if someone else is visiting the store! Be warned, though… Kei that have fun together may just evolve an unexpected trait you didn’t anticipate, so keep an eye on them... if you buy a Memory Token from the Kei-Mart, the trait they want to evolve will be stored inside of it, and you can use it on another Kei! That way, you can let your Kei have fun without worrying about them changing.

    • Accessories & Houses

Accessories are things like clothes, toys, furniture... basically anything that your Kei can interact with! Every accessory has a label like cute, cool, funky... your Kei will like a specific type, but you have to figure out what that type is! This type never changes, and is the same type as your Kei itself. It's not that hard to find out your Kei's type... but I'll let you do it yourself! I can't give you ALL the answers, can I?

In your garden, you can build houses for your Kei. Multiple Kei can stay in one house, but it's limited by the floor space you've given them—they need room to breathe too, y'know! A bigger house can host more Kei, and their "home" room inside the house is where the furniture that makes them happiest should go. There's no limit on how much furniture can be in one house... except for how big your house is, anyway!

    • Agriculture

Every garden plot—even the starter plot that's given to you!—has a space for agriculture. Larger gardens have more space to plant things like flowers and trees. You can even feed Kei this way! High quality, specialty foods can also be mixed together to make SUPER foods that give your Kei a HUGE boost!

Agriculture is also the only way to grow the flowers that you need to breed two Kei together, so it's really important to learn how it works! All you have to do is plant your seeds and water them at least once a day for most basic plants. Some of the more complicated ones will be harder to grow—but the instructions are on the package, so you can decide if you're ready or not.

    • Special Gift!

Well, that's pretty much the basics! If I explain any more, it won't be any fun for you, so I'm going to stop here. If you sign up with the invite code "BURST", you'll get an extra egg from a pool of special Kei that I designed myself! They're limited in that they can only evolve certain traits... they can't breed either, but they're a special, commemorative Kei for everyone who listened to me talk their ear off. I hope I see you on my compact soon!
