CULTURE

"Fancy yourself a quote here..."

Gaytor aesthetics are a mix of roman and greek styles with heavy inspirations of India, mongolia, and a few other places. MUCH of gaytor culture is indirectly inspired by Roman cultures and habits so it only makes sense they build with stones/rockc and carve and make big pretty cathedrals and palaces and bathhouses! Eventually I'll have lots of "image boards" to help better establish these things :3.

The few rare "wild packs" that live in the uncharted places and in small villages often have very Mongolian inspired habits and aesthetics. Minus the horses, the gaytors ARE the horses!

RELIGION AND MAGIC

RELIGION AND MAGIC

Drakators are loosely religious and worship the Gods and at least pay homage to godlings, It is extremely rare to find a drakator that lives in a clan while worshiping a godling of another clan.

Religion is common place within culture (they have physical proof of gods and magical abilities), lack of faith in gods doesn't exist, but lack of love/choice for certain deities is common. Absolute refusal to partake in the ways the godlings and gods have created is rare as well, but does exist. It is "half" common for some drakators to be born with no ability to learn magic past a few basic spells/natural abilities. They tend to distrust those of extensive magical ability and are often very discriminatory against them. In the same instance, the magically adept are often the same towards the ungifted.

there are two widely accepted "cults" or mindsets within gaytor culture regarding magic. The common folk tend to be untrusting of royals in general after the first 3 ages, This has caused a rift and each city feels it's effects often with small riots and fights and tussels breaking out. Further implementing this unseen barrier between the two major surviving bloodlines of drakators and continuing the same cycle that almost did them in the first three times. Gosh they're stubborn.

Most drakators learn a basic set of spells or abilities within their Clan, some are able to expand their arcane knowledge and will eventually be taken as shamans for their godling or god they serve. Others who can not expand their knowledge may retain what they do know with honing and practice. Without use magic will fade from a drakator, think of it like "learning a language" in such a way that if the drakator stops using it they forget how entirely and it often can't be retaught past certain ages.

Clan Allegiance

Clan Allegiance

Gaytors mostly live in the city and in their clan's designated "section". Gaytors segregate themselves proudly based on bloodlines and are FIERCELY loyal to their lineages. The longer, more illustrious and broad a lineage ,THE BETTER. At least to commoners! It's absolutely common to see "tattoos" (diligently upkept dyes and markings of bright colors), bright clothing with clan emblems, scarification in the shapes and marks of clans, and even branding. All markings to bare with the utmost pride.

Meanwhile royal clans are exceptionally selective and breed only upon invitationals. While they too are feircly loyal to bloodlines, they see themselves as more....refined. They live lavishly and very "apart" in the upper walled city. This is where ALL "known" females are kept. They are often not allowed to leave, as entering a place full of nothing but male, horny gaytors would mean she'd not be walking away any time soon.... This ensures their bloodlines stay "pure", but they're much smaller and sport less variation in colors and designs as their common brethren. They wear more jewelry and cloth to denote their allegiances rather than physical ones.

All gaytors treat clan ties like a live or die choice and are often very serious about who is in and out of clan loops. SOME unbranded like to wander and go wherever they please, but they're not often well received once others know of their alignment. Or... well, lack there of.
