INTRODUCTION
Pegasi are the eye in the sky, giving the Equine Era access to all areas of the land. Their most notible attribute, obviously, is their wings! They are known for being rough around the edges with a very tough exterior and playful personality. They are known for being either gruff and rough, or very playful with an inability to take things seriously. While this stereotype can be true for some, the pegasi, along other species, have outgrown and gotten past this stereotype.
Pegasus history is very military based, which is what their personality stereotype is based off of. They're known for being very tough because of their history. They can withstand cold temperatures and high altitudes, and are scattered all around Equine Era.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
Pegasi are some of the weakest ponies physically, and need a lot of physical training to gain strength in parts of their body that aren't their wings. They are in the middle of height between the unicorns and earth ponies, unicorns being the tallest and earth ponies being shorter, while bat ponies are the shortest.
BUILD
Despite looking so well built, pegasi are generally the weakest out of the ponies, the only exception to that being bat ponies, which were a mutation of the pegasi to begin with. Pegasi need a lot of training to be able to build their physical strength because of their lightweight bone structure needed for flying.
Depending on how big a pegasus' wings are can affect their natural physical strength. Those with larger wings have a heavier bone structure then most, which gives them more opportunity to build their physical strength. Pegasi with larger wings are generally chosen for protection of royals.
HAIR AND FUR
Despite what many may think, pegasi generally have more course hair and fur. Because most of them are at such high altitudes the lack of moisture in the air dries out their manes, tails, and fur.
The only softer feeling parts of a pegasus are their wings, specifically the feathers closer to their body. While many may want to touch the feathers of a pegasus, it is a highly sensitive thing to do, and many pegasi will be highly offended if their wings are touched without permission.
HISTORY
In older times pegasi had a very rigid and strict society. They were known for being very aggressive to outsiders, and even towards each other in certain situations. They had a very military based society for a very long time, and this created a very heavy stereotype that even lasts to certain parts of the Equine Era today. With a lot of the other species they outgrew their stereotype for the most part, but out of everywhere the pegasus stereotype is the most prominent.
THE GREAT WAR
During the great war the pegasi were a very powerful force. They were known for their unique military strategies and surprise attacks. They were acutely aware of their own weaknesses, and worked to be sure that they'd win any fight despite them. They had very precise strategies and plans that won them multiple victories.
Just as pegasi were aware of their own weaknesses, they made a firm point to make themselves aware of the other's weaknesses so they could try and take them down bit by bit. They chipped away at each society rather then trying to make one big blow against them.
REBUILDING
The pegasi were the last to agree to a truce, their distrust of other species that even extended to the earth ponies making it difficult to come together. They took an even longer time to trust despite their agreeing to a truce, but after months of working together they slowly started to warm up to both the species.
The pegasi had to work closely alongside the unicorns to help with military structures. They were organized by the unicorns and sent out with earth ponies to set up settlements as protection. The more the pegasi got to get to know other species, the more they began to trust and care. They became known as incredibly loyal and trustworthy.
MAGIC
Pegasus magic lies just between the earth pony and unicorn magic. While unicorns are incredibly talented in magic, and earth ponies have little to no magic abilities, pegasi land right in the middle. They have a few specific abilities that no other species do that requires their own special type of magic that even unicorns do not possess without complicated spells.
FLYING
The most obvious magic pegasi hold is their flying. Even with their lightweight bone structure they still need some form of magic to lift themselves off the ground as they'd be too heavy without it. This is a natural ability that comes at birth, and while they can do it easily, it needs practice for them to be able to fly correctly.
Many young pegasi will get sent to flight camps to truly perfect their flying skills and control, and it's generally a very short course, as they already have a natural ability. It caters to each pegasus' specific need, as some may need help with direction while others may need help with speed.
CLOUD WALKING
The second and easiest form of magic pegasi posses is cloud walking. This is something that comes completely naturally and needs no training or help to achieve. While unicorns need to cast a spell on themselves or others for the ability to walk on clouds, pegasi have the skill from birth.
