Flittercloud Forest

A thriving lush forest at the edge of a mountain range, getting darker and more tangled the further one goes.
Home of the small community of Dawnbreak burrow, a village located in a clearing not too far off the edges of the forest. The wood itself is inhabitated by a wide variety of critters and what is often described as monsters, especially in the deeper parts. One should employ the help of a Ranger to avoid getting lost or help when encountering a not so peaceful denizen of the forest.
For those who know where to look the forest is full of rare herbs and mushrooms, sweet berries, and springs said to hold magical abilities.
They say the Flittercloud is guarded by a benevolent spirit, though most believe them a goodnight story, and few know better.

Village within, but not too far from the edge of the wood. led by an Elder selected by the people. Self-sustained to a large extend, but trade in and out to other settlements. Deal in woodwares, herbal salves and teas, many etc.
With the Rangers in charge of keeping the village safe and guiding travelers, the inhabitants live a largely peaceful life.

Those who venture too far into the forest, especially without the guidance of a ranger, will soon find themselves among tangled shrubbery covering any trails that could have been, tall trees hiding the sunlight with their twisted crowns, and the watchful eyes of beings one wouldn’t want to dream of. Those rarely leave their dark home, and those that do are swiftly seen to by the Rangers.
Stories tell of an abandoned facility, still crackling with unbound electricity and haunted by whispering voices.
