Higher beings

The beings living in the land of Chyra have their very own understanding of what to believe in. There are some deities and beings they look up to, mostly based on stories passed down from their ancestors.

The two most known deities are counterparts. One deity listens to the name "Maeve" and is said to be the balance above the land of Chyra. Legend tells them that Maeve came from a far away land called "Aquilli", others say she was born out of hellfire or just fell from the celestial sky. No one seems to know for sure, but they are all certain that Maeve is the holder of the greater power over the kitsune of this land and it is her ghostly kitsune spirit "Kami" who blessed (or cursed?) the family of Chyra.

The other diety, a righteous sword wielding moon spirit, is the direct counterpart of Maeve, but much more dependable. Legend tells the foxes that this deity listens to the name “Meleys”, came from the same land as Maeve did, and was sent to keep Maeve’s power under control by cutting Maeve’s mask and her multiple tails apart, creating her ghostly spirit Kami in the process.
