Introduction

Irons Hills is wholly owned and operated by the McCowlen Family. The dream of the McCowlen Family from the start was to create a unique environment of “good friendship, good commerce and good sport”. This dream has been shared from its genesis by a committed group of friends, volunteers, athletes, staff, fans and officials. Together these stakeholders have shaped the dream and built a most memorable place.
Iron Hills is committed to being the leading venue in the world for the international horse sports with a focus on the organization and hosting of various tournaments of unmatched quality for junior, amateur and professional athletes in a manner that reflects basic family values in a clean, green and welcoming environment that celebrates the horse and encourages the breeding and training of quality sport horses and the teaching and development of athletes.

The Property

Iron Hills is located 30 minutes south of Weslan City. Not too far yet not too close keeps the equestrian center within arms reach of city convenience as well as keeping it in a more scenic relaxed part of the land.

As large as the property is, is is kept clean and organized by vvarious staff working around the clock. All arenas are grated every morning via tractor. Horses on schedule are turned out and the daily running is wells scheduled and tracked to keep things smooth and productive.

Professional and world class doesn't mean only the pros may come and ride! Lucerne the owner and head dressage coach is always open to young and new riders looking to start their equestrian journey! So, either pop in and say hi or schedule a tour now!

Arena Previews

Two smaller 60'x 120' arenas with rubber and sand footing private viewing room and stands for larger events. Both have show jumping and dressage equipment. Harrowed 2 times a day. Please clean up equipment after use.

22, 23, 24 ,25 on site map Outdoor Arenas

Four 100' x 200' outdoor arenas with dressage and show jumping capabilities. Same footing as indoor arenals with drainege. harrowed 2 times a day. Please clean up equipment after use.

Boarding

Description

We only offer fullboarding as we do not accept any kind of animal neglect or abandonment that partial boarding often causes. Stall and pasture board is avilalble, all stalls have run outs. Allowing horse to be used as a lesson horse can lower the cost as wll as ocasional volunteering simply ask for help if needed.

Basic forage, Feed and training equipment are fully provided anything custom or specially made is up to the owner of the horse such as medical feed and supplies etc. Ferier comes once a month of you wish for your horse to be checked as well please let Lucerne or Jake Taylors know to schedule your horse.

All Horses must be at least halter trained and polite in ground work to keep our staff and clients safe.

Boarding Options

Stalls 48, 47, 78, 79, 15 on sitedmap

16' x 16' box stalls in all indoor barns. Each barn has 10 stalls with run outs and 10 with out. Both have double doors for multiple access. Each stall has rubber matting with floor draineg. PErsonal fans for air flow and auto waterers. One 10 stall barn is reserved for our live in stable hands and volunters.

Pastures are rotated every 3 months harrowed and futilized naturally. No harmfull chemicals are added durring this process. Winter and rainy months pastures are closed off due to mud and damage posabilities. Some of the pastures are resserved for the staff and owner please check the office to know the turn out schedule.

Description

Iron Hills is both an event hosting and boarding fascility that also hosts its own breeding program to supply those in need of a high achieveing companion a horse of high standard and quality. As such some of the barns and pastures are reserved for this program and you will often see these animals around the property in trianing, competition or simply in the fields.


Grand Prix is the Goal

Dressage: With one Grand Prix level instructor and one AdvancedII Instructor, Iron Hills specializes in dressage from the start. The horses bred and trained a tIron hills will be focussed on this discipline as well.

Other Disciplines: Iron hills is not just for dressage! We welcome all forms of discipline on the property as long as it is not harmfull to animal or Handler! Lessons and instructors in these other disciplines however may need to be resourced externally if they are not found on the property itself.

The Breeds

Konjska Barn 48

Registered lines only and only aproved mares and stallions are bred. Founded and bred form exotic otherworldly breeds mixed with our own these animals do not follow earthly logic! These animals are exteremly sentient, intelgent and undertsanding and are great for first time owners!.

Atsatos Barn #47

Atsatos are a line of different warmblood and exotic horses mixed to get a strong endepentant athlete that is well roudned and determined. Hoewever these horses are not for a beginer and require a very experienced rider hey can bond and trust. These horses are rarely in stalls as they prefer large open spaces to run around and burn energy. The husky of the Horse world they come in lean to stocky build and everage aroudn 16.2-17hh
