Martie had a rather unusual pair of parents, both coming from different districts. As such, Martie was used to living in different districts, though most of it was spent within the Aster district. However, after his parents split, Martie chose to remain in the Aster district. After all, it was the one he was most acustomed to. Plus, after what they learnt, Martie felt much safer being with his mother and grandfather.
Yet, there were still some unanswered questions in the back of his mind and Martie wasn't going to let them go that easily. Although Vance tried to help with what he could, it was impossible for him to answer everything he wanted. Either that, or Vance did not want to answer. Nevertheless, Martie is willing to answer anything he possibly can, just to satisfy his own curiousity.
Personality
Martie tends to prioritize the people around him rather than himself. He feels that everyone should, in the very least, be happy, and would go out of his way to try and make someone smile. As a result, Martie tends to tolerate others pretty well, especially as he's rather easy-going, and can hit it off with anyone rather well. Despite this, Martie doesn't actually think that much of himself. He really lacks self confidence, and can sometimes be seen as rather withdrawn. Due to this lack of self confidence, Martie is quite the pushover - he often gives in very easily, and sometimes his curiosity can get the better of him.

Trivia
- His hair is dyed grey. Nobody is sure why he "picked" that color, but it's assumed that he dyed his hair to try and look different from his father.
- "When he was dying his hair, he actually didn't want it to be grey. He was going to try and die it some really cool color, like blue or green, something that would be really different and poppy. He had to do it on his own, and when he was bleaching it he accidentally fell asleep. He woke up before it started to burn, but when he rinsed it out, it turned out the grey oddly enough. He liked how it looked and decided to not risk it instead of trying to mess with any of the dyes. " - Hoggie
