Cal

Sadly, the last of her kind to her knowledge, Cal's species, called Galoops, was devastated by a sudden plight that destroyed their home planet. She managed to escape, as well as a few others, but it's unknown if they made it... Arezou found her in a lonely ship after she made a wish on a star, hoping for companionship or a friend. Not wanting to leave it up to fate, Arezou decided to take her in himself. This worked out fantastically, because the little Wish Prince was in desperate need of some companionship himself! He granted two wishes on that day, however he didn't quite realize it at first!

Cal is very impressionable, and prone to imitation. She imitates Arezou the most, but her personality still shines through bright. When she was still dealing with the trauma of losing her home, Cal tried to imitate Arezou to a tee, even to the point of transforming into a look-alike of him. When he encouraged her to just be herself, she finally settled on her puppy-like appearance. It took some time, but she eventually opened like a social butterfly! Cal is quite energetic and loud when she’s in familiar company. She loves to run around and play games, and maybe even cause some mischief if she’s feeling particularly silly. She’s also quite affectionate! That said, she doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, and will likely call you out if you’re being a pill.

However... She's not very good at taking criticism. It's all too easy for her confidence to be broken. She looks to Arezou for help and support in this regard. The two of them support each other in quite a lot of ways; Arezou gives Cal confidence and love, and Cal gives Arezou some much-needed reassurance and company. The two would be nothing without one another. 

She LOVES travelling through space in Arezou's star. Her favorite part is being able to explore planets and meet new people. Doing this also allows her to get learn more things that she can shapeshift into, which she has a blast entertaining Arezou with. The two often make a guessing game out of it, where Cal shifts part of her body into something specific, or mixes different creatures together. The only limitation she has in travelling to other planets is the language barrier... However she can often get past this through telepathy, when applicable, or if necessary. Sometimes she's perfectly okay with people watching, and not interacting with anyone!

She really doesn’t like soft and squishy things very much–ironic, considering her physical makeup! She even refuses to sleep in a bed, and will only sleep on the floor with a blanket. However Arezou has caught her snuggling with a plush toy now and again. She seems to be fond of things that are fuzzy, and will never decline an opportunity to touch Arezou's feather collar, or squish his feathery cheeks. 

For an introduction to Galoops, they are a species of gooey creatures who are adept shapeshifters. They can take on any form that they've seen, however they can't change their colors, of which they usually come in two or three. They're known for their mimicry, ability to adapt to all situations, and impeccable memory that most would consider photographic--all of these characteristics Cal possesses as well, however after her trauma, she isn't quite as good at adapting as she used to be. Their default form varies from Galoop to Galoop, however in Cal's case, she likes to be vaguely dog-shaped. 

Although they are gooey, depending on the shape they take, any Galoop can be either very dense, or rather squishy. By either pressing their molecules together, or stretching them out, they can decrease and increase their size. The smaller they are, the tougher their hide is. One could probably deflect a bullet if they were small enough (It would still hurt, of course.)! The bigger they are however, the squishier and more transparent they are. This means that no matter how small a Galoop is, they will always weigh the same. Cal prefers to be on the small end, as it's easy to maneuver, and it lets her see Arezou eye-to-eye--however she likes to be ever so slightly taller than him!

They are a sexless species, and as a result, they reproduce asexually by removing some of their own goo and incubating it for a time. Once the Galoop has finished developing, It will be a perfect copy of the parent. It will remain this way for about a year, until it begins to develop a personality all its own. Eventually, the colors will begin to change and they may develop unique markings, however after they are two years old, this color will no longer change. This is for the better, especially with Cal potentially being the last of her kind--once she's old enough to reproduce, she will be the parent to many a Galoop in the future! This isn't the end of the species by any means!

On the norm, they use genderless words and pronouns, however as they are adaptable and love to mimic, some may adopt gendered pronouns from other species, depending on their preference--for example, Cal is very fond of the "sh" sound in "she," so that's what she uses. She also likes the idea of being a "sister" to a "brother," as that's a novel concept for her and her people (However, in the case of something like Japanese pronouns, she would likely use "boku," as that's what Arezou would use to refer to himself.)!

In some rare cases, Galoops can have psychic powers, be it as simple as telepathy, or as strong as being able to move or manipulate objects. Cal is a rare case, and has extremely potent psychic abilities, however she has not yet tapped into her full potential, or honed all of her skills, yet. Despite this she is able to help Arezou out with her powers!
