Miriam is a filler character who is separate from the main story, only present in Narayan’s college friend group alongside Magnus. She may have a small interaction with the mountain group later on in the story but idk. She’s a nice design and just became less relevant to the plot as the years went on.

Miriam has lived in the city all her life, spending her childhood raised by her mother Rachel. Miriam had to mostly look after herself as her mother spent most of her time struggling with drug addiction and wasn’t too interested in caring for a kid. Miriam was an active kid and spent the majority of her time outdoors, bullying kids and even older teenagers off the park swings and stealing from convenience stores. She was a girl full of anger, picking fights with kids at school and getting herself in trouble, however around the age of 12, the day came that she’d pick a fight with a nasty new harpy boy, who would overpower her and violently claw her face, winding her needing hospital treatment.

Miriam is scared to death of hospitals, and made an escape as soon as she could and ran away from home. She picked the stitches in her wounds; opening them to infection and unable to properly heal, which left her with holes in her cheeks and permanent scarring. When she eventually returned home to her mother, she decided to reach out to her estranged father, and beg for a better life.
Miriam would move in with her dad Louis, and his wife Willow, in turn changing schools. She gets some therapeutic help, and becomes friends with Narayan, who she’d attend the same college as, but study separate courses from. Miriam would study sport and dance, hanging out with Narayan and Magnus in their class during her free periods.
