Nokkey is a very carefree gem, one who always has her eyes to the stars. She values her freedom, and tries to live each day to the fullest. Of course, this means that she struggles with juggling responsibilities, and can get off track rather easily. story

Nokkey was part of Blue Diamond's court, until the rebellion. She was an aristocratic gem, one of the few Lapis Lazulis who personally terra-formed and manipulated Blue's waterfalls, ponds, and fountains. It was considered a great honor, and she was noticed because in all of the terra-formed land she produces, the ground gives off golden sparkles, making the ground look extra royal. When Pink Diamond first received Earth, Blue Diamond sent off multiple gems to help terra-form special palaces and watery places for Pink. In fact, Nokkey was one of the Lapis Lazulis who worked on the underwater temple of time! But, everything had changed when Pink Diamond "died" and the rebellion started. Nokkey was ordered to stay on Earth, and to assist the Homeworld army in terra-forming big defense walls and moats. On one of the battlefields in Malaysia, Nokkey had been poofed by a spear through the chest, and taken prisoner. She was bubbled and left in one of the old decrepit buildings of Pink Diamond's, specifically an observatory. For many years she was left in that bubble, until by chance, a human girl discovered the observatory and found her. At the time, Nokkey was afraid to leave the observatory and see how the world had changed, how she was left behind. During this time, she developed her skills of stargazing, and discovered a new fascination with the stars. So, she chose to stay in the observatory, and the little girl regularly visited her, visiting her throughout her entire life. The young human noticed how Nokkey was terrified of going into the outside world, and for as long as she could, tried to convince the gem to see the world, and embrace life. However, Nokkey refused over and over again, letting the same fear affect her. Until one day, when the little girl had grown to become an old frail woman, she visited her for the last time. As Nokkey waved to the old human from the observatory window, she saw her old friend slow down in her pace, struggling to walk up the hill, until she collapsed on the hill. At that instant, Nokkey flew out the window of the observatory and down to her friend. The weary old woman slowly looked up, and smiled sadly. She had been slowly dying from age for a while at that point, and tried to hide it from Nokkey as best as she could. But, she couldn't do so anymore. Her body had reached it's limit. For a while now, Nokkey had feared this day finally coming, when she would lose her only friend. It broke her heart just to think of it. While Nokkey heaved and sobbed, the old woman squeezed the gem's hand and asked her one more time, for the blue woman to leave her self-made prison and to see the world. It was her dying wish, the only thing she wanted for her best friend. In response, her friend bobbed her head up and down, agreeing to fulfill the last wish of the same person who freed her from her bubble. Her throat was tight, she couldn't say anything. It hurt too much, everything hurt too much. All she could do was nod. Nokkey's human friend smiled at her one last time and closed her eyes, and took her last breath. She died in her arms. The gem sat there for hours, sobbing at her loss. Her one and only friend, gone, just like that. By the time her tears stopped and left her with puffy eyes, she slowly got up, and with a heavy heart, terra-formed a grave for her best friend. Even after she buried her, she struggled to get up, all of her emotions were dragging her to the floor. Slowly, she moved up from the ground, and left back for her observatory. For days after, Nokkey struggled to do anything. The only thing in her mind was her friend. Until one stormy night, she heard a knock at her door. Hesitantly, she answered the door, finding a drenched gem at her doorstep. She asked the strange gem who she was and what she wanted. The gem introduced herself as Indicolite, and said she had nowhere to go for the night, and politely asked Nokkey if she could stay there until the storm was over. At first, she was hesitant, but seeing Indicolite in her wet state gave her a pang of sympathy in her heart. It reminded her of her friend. Nokkey let her in. Indicolite sat in a chair across from Nokkey, wrapped in a towel and drying from the beating the storm had given her. Clearing her throat, Nokkey asked her what she was doing in the area. Traveling, exploring, things of that sort, is what Indicolite replied with. Being out in the world. A small bud of a thought grew at the back of her mind, nagging her of what she promised her old friend before she passed. As the two of them talked about what the visitor had done in the past, and the village she was from, the thought grew louder and louder, eventually becoming so vocal that it took up her entire mind. She blurted out for Indicolite to take her along on her trip, so she could see the world too. Her hands instinctively covered her mouth in embarrassment. The other gem looked at her inquisitively, and asked if she was all right. Nokkey nodded and quickly excused herself to her room, slamming the door behind her. Indicolite sat in her chair, and mulled over what had just happened. Worried for the gem she had just met, she trudged up the stairs and pressed her ear against the door, hearing soft sobs on the other side. She twisted the handle of the door and noticed Nokkey had left it unlocked. Announcing her presence, Indicolite entered the room, spotting the blue gem weeping softly on her bed. Nokkey glanced up and saw her visitor concerned for her, and she embarrassed looked away. She clearly was the worst host ever, and already looked bad for leaving suddenly like that. Now this? It made her feel terrible. Sitting down on the other side of the bed, Indicolite smiled, and asked why she wanted to go with her. There was nowhere else to run away to and hide, so she might as well tell her. Hesitantly, the gold flecked gem apologized for rudely leaving, and using all of her strength, cleared her throat and spoke her story. She told of her old friend, and what her wish was. What she wanted for Nokkey, and what she had promised to her before she passed. For her, this was perhaps the perfect opportunity to fulfill her friend's wish, and her sub-conscious recognized that. And Nokkey, she couldn't hide her emotions over that any longer, as these feelings grew too strong to ignore. This touched Indicolite's heart, who felt emphatically for her. She suggested Nokkey come with her, and fulfill her friend's wish. Of course, Nokkey was hesitant, because she hadn't left her observatory before. But, if it was for her friend...she would do it. Nodding, she agreed to leave with Indicolite the next morning, and leave for the hidden village. The following morning, Nokkey packed her most meaningful items, said goodbye to her old friend's grave, and left her observatory for the world. After this, Nokkey traveled with Indicolite across continents, learned new things, and experienced new cultures she hadn't ever seen before. This was the world her old friend wanted her to see, and she had honestly loved it. Eventually, the two of them stopped traveling when they came home to the hidden village Indicolite had mentioned before. There were other gems like them, which had surprised her greatly. She hadn't seen so many gems in a single spot in hundreds of years. And what was better, was that almost all of the gems she had met were nice and welcoming, it felt like a new home for her, something she hadn't felt before. She hadn't felt this since her friend passed. It made her...happy. Nokkey had made up her mind. Determined to continue to fulfilling her friend's wish, and to experience the world, to not be lonely, she bubbled up her observatory, and moved it across the globe to the village so she could live there instead. Since this point onward, Nokkey has been living in the village with her observatory, and running her little air plant shop at the same time. Every once in a while, she takes a trip to visit her old friend's grave, and leaves a flower there for her. Nokkey has made great efforts to fulfill her friend's wish, and currently still grows to this day by doing so. Right now, she can either be found in her observatory or in her air plant shop at the village square, selling plants to those who wants one.
