After the events at Camp Hinnom and losing Asia, Cat desperately just wants to return to a life of normalcy. One of her surviving family members, Reuben, gets a surprise when she and Jeff appear at their door; Cat had been presumed dead after being missing for over a year.
She's very tired.
She copes by diving headfirst into responsibilities and things like work + college. She also must now protect and watch over Jeff, who is devastated after the events of Lake Hinnom. They are both suffering; Cat is just much better at hiding it.
