Personal Details

Full Name Kronan ?? (last name unknown)
Nicknames N/A
Gender Non-binary (they/them pronouns)
Species Demon
Age Appears to be and is mentally around 16-17 years old; however their true age is around 500-600 years old
Height -
Birthday *month* *day* *starsign*
Likes Anyone who respects humans (especially if they're also a demon), Favourite colour = dark green
Dislikes Having to feed on souls to control their urge to destroy everything, most 'normal' food, most other demons and their 'sickening' views on how to treat others (especially mortals), non-vegetarians (because they think the fact that they eat meat is similar to how Kronan feeds on souls), has a fear of prison
Strengths -
Weaknesses -
Powers They're able to shapeshift to some degree, as they can make their left arm turn completely black, and become larger and much stronger (but unlike Reese, they can control their strength in this arm), make black, tail-like tentacles come from their lower back, and make much thinner tentacles that are also black come out of their right palm. Also, due to them being a demon, they're unable to die from what would naturally kill humans and other mortals (including old age, of course), and are pretty much impossible to kill using less natural means.

Personality

They usually appear to be pretty calm and mellow. They're also pretty friendly, despite being a demon... well, at least when they're not hungry.
However, deep down they're always worried that somebody will find out their secret: that they have to feed on souls in order to... well, not destroy everything in sight. Sure, their friend Iris does too, but she, along with the rest of her species, is able to control herself so she doesn't eat so much of one that it kills the person it belongs to, whereas Kronan can't. They also hate themself a lot because they believe they're a cruel, heartless murderer who has killed many people including who used to be their best friend, and therefore doesn't deserve happiness (well... okay, the whole 'murdering people' thing is actually true, but they actually couldn't really stop themselves from doing that and they don't want to do it anymore, so I wouldn't really say that they're cruel or heartless). Their personality completely changes when they're hungry, from being calm and friendly to sinister and perhaps even violent. How much their personality changes depends on how hungry they are.

Backstory

Ever since Kronan was born, they were violent and destructive, because over in the 'demon realm' there are no souls they can feed on at all as it is impossible to damage demons' souls in any way. Once they found out that demons had figured out a way to travel from the 'demon realm' to the realm where all of the mortal beings live, they decided to do it too, in order to find more places (and people) to destroy.
However, while on a rampage, they ate a human's soul, and they suddenly felt much calmer and didn't feel the need to destroy everything in sight. While they were in this much calmer state, they discovered what mortal beings were like. Sure, there were plenty who were hostile towards them, and others who ran away in fear of them, but there were some who were friendly towards them, which was completely different to how many demons Kronan knew were like.
Because of this, instead of trying to destroy everything in the 'mortal realm' like they originally intended to, they tried to befriend them and live a 'normal' life among them. Unfortunately, this hasn't been easy for them due to the fact that they cannot survive without feeding on souls without killing the people they belong to. This has meant that they've had to move from place to place often to avoid attention from the police (and because of the occasional attacks by mortals on demons like them - after all, demons aren't exactly known for being nice).
They used to not mind having to end up killing mortals just because they were hungry, because they'd heard of both mortals and other demons who had done much worse things, so they didn't feel very guilty about it. Plus, they didn't know any other alternatives to feeding on souls that were equally as filling as that, so they felt that they didn't have a choice.
However, that all changed when they met a human boy who went by the name of Jayden Forrest. The two eventually ended up becoming the best of friends, despite concerns from other mortals, especially Jayden's parents and younger sister. However, his family gradually became less worried for him once they found out that Kronan was actually pretty friendly. Luckily, neither Jayden or his family had found out about Kronan's secret...
...Until one day when he was seventeen years old, when he noticed that they were beginning to act strangely - they were beginning to act much less friendly than usual, and they seemed to be eating an awful lot of food for some reason. Kronan seemed to be distancing themself from him, too. Jayden eventually decided to try and visit them in their... err, home, because he wanted to find out what was wrong with them, and to cheer him up. Sadly, due to him not knowing Kronan's secret, he didn't know that they were desperate to eat a soul, and that they, being pretty much unable to control themself while they were starving, would end up eating his and killing him.
Now, the thing is when Kronan is really hungry, to the point where they can't stop themself from eating a soul or two, they have no memory of what they did during that time. So when they woke up from sleeping soon afterwards not feeling hungry at all, they were confused at first, then when it suddenly hit them that their best friend was a mortal (and of course that Kronan eats souls), they were terrified. They rushed to see Jayden and his family, fearing that their next victim was him. When they arrived, his family thought that he was fine, and was with Kronan for the night. When they told them that they actually had no idea where he was, his family were worried, and set up some sort of search party to try and find him.
The good news was that they did eventually find Jayden... but he was dead. None of the mortals could figure out what caused his death, as there wasn't anything near him that looked as if it could be used to kill him, he looked fine apart from his heart not beating, and they didn't know about souls so they didn't know that he no longer had one. But Kronan knew all too well what had happened to him, because as a demon they were able to sense that his soul wasn't there. They didn't tell anyone else this, incase they thought that they had something to do with his death. Devastated, they moved away a few days afterwards.
They still move from place to place, trying to live a 'normal' life, but now they feel incredibly guilty about the mortals they've killed, especially Jayden. They don't know what has happened to him, his parents, his two brothers or his sister since his death.

Relationships

Friends - It's difficult for them to make friends because of what they eat, and there being quite a lot of mortals in my character story/universe thing. In fact, they'd almost completely given up on truly becoming friends with mortals, especially after what happened to Jayden, until they met and became friends with Flora, Rain and Iris. Since then, they've also become friends with this character. Kronan used to be best friends with Jayden until his death.
Enemies - They don't really see anyone as an enemy. ...Well, unless themself counts? They hate themself for what they've done in the past, and what they continue to do now.
Family - They don't like mentioning their family to other people, because they're a bunch of selfish jerks who couldn't care less about the mortals they have to kill. However, they do have a sister.
Relationship status - Single/Not really looking (they tend to believe that they don't deserve to have a partner because of what they do)/Sexuality unknown

Other

  • Because they don't like having to eat human souls, they'll try to eat other things while they're hungry. Unfortunately, that only makes their cravings for human souls temporarily go away. If they don't eat any human souls for a while, these cravings get worse and worse until eventually the only thing that will make them go away is... well, feeding on a poor, innocent soul or two.
