Elminos Vessy

It likely goes without saying that growing up a 'normal' boy but contracting a disease that makes people you previously trusted and loved, including your own family treat you like a wicked, rotten zombie based on little more than religious superstition backed up by not one lick of science, is a fair bit of whiplash. Treated as a monster before anything else, Elminos was never treated well in his home village.

This came to a head when, in the middle of the night, an old woman (tragically stronger than him) of the village descended upon him in the streets of the village and tried to bludgeon his head in for 'bringing bad fortune upon the village', and, though he regrets it every second of his life, he did what he had to do to survive. She only stopped attacking when she stopped breathing.

Now, having actually committed a crime, Elminos realized he had to get away from this village and quickly. The day before the murder took place was the last time anyone ever saw him - and frankly, no one really came looking, they just assumed he did the honorable thing and removed himself, that maybe the old woman fell down the well or something, when really, he just dumped her there.

This is how he happened upon the Forbidden Lands, specifically the forgotten god's shrine.

Fun Facts:

• Elminos isn't very certain of his sexuality. Is he traumatized, going through some self-loathing, or does he truly only feel romantic and sexual attraction highly rarely? Good question. Elminos' feelings for the forgotten god are quasiplatonic. Probably. We can't really ever be sure.
• Elminos has leprosy. That's fun.
• Elminos is an awful singer, but he likes to sing to himself anyway.
• He was never meant to be a permanent vessel, anyway, so it's no big loss for Dormin when he drops dead like a worthless slab of rotting meat.
