 | IntroductionJosé is the High Commander of the Adelphian Military Police (West Sector). At the age of 26, he is one of the youngest commanders ever to have been instated. He hails from an affluent family that he wants no part of, and has at least 5 exes. Highly ambitious, he is not above using underhand tricks to get what he wants. While he might seem cold and emotionally detached, there is a more gentle and compassionate side to him. |
APPEARANCE
Tall, lean and extremely pale, José's appearance might be initially startling to some. His albinism lends him his white hair, as well as pale silvery eyes that might appear red under certain lighting. He has a narrow but attractive face with sharp, angular features.
At a height of 180cm, he does not appear particularly well-built, and his lanky physique often leads others to underestimate his physical capabilities.
He usually wears a pair of spectacles with a rectangular frame, but switches to contacts during missions. He is typically clad in his uniform, or in expensive, classy clothes.
PERSONALITY
Charismatic and outgoing, he is a smooth talker that can easily bend others to his will. He disguises his cunning nature with a friendly and optimistic facade, and hides daggers behind a charming smile. With quick wits and a sharp mind, he always has a trick up his sleeve, and he always wants to get the last laugh. He is extremely ambitious, and is not above using manipulation or other underhand tricks to get what he wants.
Always calm and collected, he will not appear to be the slightest bit affronted by even the most derogatory of insults. However, cross him once and he will make your life a living hell. He will not hesitate to drag anyone's name into the ground. Literally the master of salt, he can be extremely petty sometimes and do things out purely out of spite.
Those who know him well might describe him as a "cold-hearted bastard", but José does not believe himself to be above human empathy. He has a softer side to him, which he rarely shows. He has a kind heart and often feels sympathy towards others' plights, but is forced to hide his true emotions given that it might be perceived as a sign of weakness by others (although he does not believe this himself). He helps out those in need whenever he is able to, and will fight for whatever he believes to be right in his own crafty way.
He secretly has guilt issues, as he is terrified that mistakes he made in his past will come back and haunt him, although he'd never voice his worries to anyone, of course. He watches his back at every turn as he fears that there will always been someone out there seeking to kill him or destroy his life.
HISTORY
Past
José grew up in an extremely wealthy household, but did not lead a happy childhood. As a child, José was pretty sickly. His family had not been sure that he would even live past his 10th birthday.
His father, an ex-military commander who had wanted a heir to continue his legacy, was sorely disappointed by his weak-bodied son. This coupled with his albinism made José seem more like the family disappointment than ever.
His career-oriented mother never cared about her children, so José was often left to fend for himself against his father's verbal and occasionally physical abuse.
At 16 years old, he started a few brief relationships with boys around his age, mostly from affluent families like his. Under the suggestion of one of his lovers, he decided to join the Military Academy to escape from his family.
He knew the academy would not take him in if they knew of his poor health, so he used a few connections and hacked into the systems, modifying his medical records.
At the age of 18, his excellent academic record earned him an acceptance letter into the academy, much to the shock of his father. His father practically disowned him, certain that his "useless son" would bring embarrassment to the family with his poor performance in the academy.
José was determined to prove his father wrong. His first few years in the academy were rough, as he faced constant torment and abuse from other cadets due to his physical weaknesses. However, he eventually learned how to fend for himself, and got back at his bullies through sabotage and blackmail.
He fought tooth and nail to climb to the top, and ultimately emerged victorious. He graduated at the top of his class, promoting himself straight into the high ranks of the Military Police Force. His family, upon learning of his success, started to acknowledge him once more, admitting their mistake in renouncing him, and even requesting for him to return home more frequently. However, José shunned all of their pleas, and the only acknowledgement he made in return was to take money from the family fortune.
José served as a lieutenant in the force for the next five years or so, until he was promoted to become the Commander of the West Sector, after the previous Commander, was found guilty of treason.
His new position came with a new responsibility in the form of Azrael, a superhuman clone soldier that the previous Commander had been in charge of.
Present
José offered Azrael a position on a Special Ops squad he was planning to form, and after Azrael completed a brief training period as a new recruit, José put his new team to the task of capturing the traitorous previous Commander. However, the deed was not so easily done.
The Special Ops team was more successful in taking down several criminal empires on Adelphus. Rumours about the military's new deadly superhuman soldier began to spread.
José, wanting to get closer to Azrael, and noticing how the clone was being ostracized by the other soldiers, invited Azrael to move in with him into his penthouse apartment. Eventually, he realized Azrael's feelings for him, and was quick to reciprocate them.
TRIVIA
- José enjoys cooking as a hobby, and is extremely skilled at it, being able craft numerous gourmet dishes.
- He has a personal physician, who is sworn to secrecy about his health issues and helps him procure falsified medical records for the military.
- After going through his many exes, he describes his type as "tall, dark, and handsome".
- Notable exes:
- Torey Vladic --- The first boyfriend, a young man from another wealthy family much like José's. He is a few years older than José, so he took advantage of José's relative innocence for a quick lay. They got together at the socialite gatherings their families would attend. The relationship ended when Vladic's father sent him to another planet to oversee their growing business empire.
- Rein Weiss --- The ex that convinced José to join the military to escape from his family's tyranny. Being a year older than José, he was already an experienced cadet at the Military Academy, and was immensely popular due to his roguish playboy-like persona. Before he enlisted in the military, he was involved in gang activities in the Undercities of Adelphus, often dragging José along into bad company. He left his old life behind when he enlisted, but his behavior remained unchanged as he established himself as a sort of gang leader of the more rebellious cadets. Initially, José was highly reliant on his guidance and support, but soon realized that Rein saw him as nothing more than a highly amusing plaything, or a source of easy cash. He broke up with Rein, much to the other's annoyance. However, before Rein could take his revenge, he dies in an "accident" during a military training exercise, leaving José relieved, albeit a little guilty.
- Nathalia Castello --- A girl from a wealthy family like José's. Since she was the same age as him, they grew up as childhood friends, playing together during the lavish gatherings their family would hold. There were talks of an arranged marriage between the two of them, but that was quickly called off due to José's ill health. When they got older, they dated anyway for a few brief months, before deciding to just remain as friends. She joined the Military Academy together with José as well, but dropped out halfway, instead deciding to become an investigative journalist. Out of all José's exes, she is the only one he still actively maintains a close friendship with.
