Angelo Martínez

Born a Chicago city boy to a single mom, only to move out to his grandparents in the Virginia countryside mid-way through middle-school, Angelo fell in love with the rural life in all its glory.  Loud and proud on the outside, he comes across much brasher than he actually is.  He loves classic gothic novellas, grunge, punk, and goth aesthetics and music, and will paint his nails every possible color known to man.  He's also been found to have quite a green thumb, though he might not look the part of a farmer.

Angelo met Jamie, his later boyfriend, in school, shortly after he moved into the neighborhood.  He thought, "Oh, shit, he's cute," then sidled up to him one day to read books together.  Since then, they've been thick as thieves.

While he comes across as very social, Angelo struggles to make close friends.  He talks to anyone who will talk to him, good or bad, and while he knows the habit is not the best, it's a hard one to break when you're lonely.  His desire for attention pushed him to acquire the Class Clown title early-on, and he relished it for all it was worth, having a very sharp wit to draw upon for comedy material.  It got him into plenty of trouble -- much to the chagrin of his elderly grandparents, trying to nurture him in place of his struggling mother still back in the city.
