Fabian grew up in, what some might call, not the best conditions but he didn't care in the slightest. He had a happy life with his father and older brother Paris but his happiness didn't seem to matter as he was taken away from that loving family by a social working who didn't care much for that. Instead the social worker was of the belief that Fabian needed to be put in a better off and more "civilized" household but one home became two for the brothers and then three and so on. Fabian had lost count of how many homes the two went through together before they were separated although that was done mostly out of self-preservation as Fabian does everything in his power not to remember those days of him being in foster care. Particular one house hold to be exact.
Fabian doesn't talk about the family he got sent to at the end. The ones who had a track record that neared perfection on correcting the kids that came under their care. The last few years that Fabian was in the system were a time that he keeps close to the vest and probably wouldn't reveal to anyone. Fabian eventually ran as soon as he no longer had to be in the system, leaving the state, and moving a few over to avoid any memories of what he went through. Doing what he could and what he had to until he had made it into California where Fabian discovered he had a talent in the backrooms of private gambling halls. He was a extremely talented card shark. So much so that what had been a penniless kid from Texas became a young man who was living the high life in a private loft all his own. With enough money left over that he regularly found himself turning over what he didn't need to people who were in about as bad a spot as he was.
With his life on the upswing Fabian managed to get in contact with his father and through him had regained contact with his older brother Paris whose experience had been far better than his and who was miraculously living extremely close-by. The icing on the cake was that his foster father had been shot under mysterious circumstances in something that local police had written off as a robbery gone wrong of which they had no suspects. Although Fabian was out of town the weekend of the shooting he will staunchly deny he had anything to do with it although some would argue he had all the reason and justification. Still it's something he doesn't think about and since then Fabian has done his best to live a comfortable life. Between his various charity jobs to give back to his fellow man, to the point that some locals would call him a saint, his handyman jobs to keep him from feeling that he is wasting away on his couch, and a band that let him tap into a musical side of him that had been long since repressed. It it through these that Fabian had met various people who have made his new life nearly perfect. From his now ex-girlfriend Fredia who helped him with a lot of his issues, to a young man named Carrtier and his half-sister, his current partner, Vardah whom he is doing his best to help through their issues in their own respective ways.
