Jin MeiXing

Basic Information

Jin MeiXing (JMX) is known widely in the JiangHu. Although very few know her real face since she wears a mask covering her eyes most of the time. With her uncle and cousin, she is a key member of the information group White Wind. Her nickname is Silent Seer. It is said that she can easily get information not readily available for the public. Although it is not an exaggeration to say that, it is not only her efforts that make it possible. The three powers inside White Wind make it possible that such information can be attained.

JMX was born in a rural area near a small town. When she was but a baby, her father died during one of his missions. Her mother, heartbroken but still strong, raised her. Since birth, JMX had very strange eyes compared to the rest. Having dark eyes was a normal occurrence, but she was born with golden eyes that seemed to reflect the light whenever her eyes were opened. This pose a challenge to her because the other kids around her age would call her 'monster' due to her different eyes. She was a very cute child, but because of the mocking she received, she slowly grew her hair longer and started covering her eyes with it. The only people that she readily showed her face were her mother, uncle, and cousin. Her uncle was an expert in martial arts and since she did not have any friends other than her cousin, she trained in martial arts with him. While growing up, she discovered that her sense of hearing was more acute than the regular person. She could listen to faraway conversations easily and could control what she wanted to hear and what she did not (cancel out ambient noise). Because of this, she knew that her uncle and cousin were involved in a secret organization, White Wind. White Wind was created by her uncle a few years before she was born, as a small business where people could exchange information. It grew slowly but because of the dangers of the job, the people involved had to be low profile. JMX also wanted to take part of it, but her uncle and cousin denied her many times because of the dangers. After an entire year of begging to be let in into the group, JMX entered White Wind at the age of 8 where she trained arduously to help her uncle and cousin. At the age of 10, she started going into missions as trainee and by the time she was 12, she could do missions alone. This job did have its downs: she witnessed things that most people did not need to ever experience. Slowly, whenever she put on that mask, she would become the cold and unfeeling Silent Seer, but without it, she could stare at you with a smile uncharacteristic of a child. 

During one of her missions, she encountered a man that was playing the guqin from far away. It was a melody that for some reason resonated with her. It communicated longing and loneliness, but also a strength she never felt before. Without knowing, she had slowly approached the guqin master and listened to it from the shadows. She did not know when, but the master had been staring at her for some time. When she noticed that she had been discovered, she quickly fled but the memory of that master was still on her mind. Subsequently, she would always search for this master and enjoy the pieces. It was not until many meetings later that the master had spoken to her and personally taught her about his secret. Not only were the melodies beautiful but they were made to do so by infusing some internal energy into the strings and deliberately manipulate the audience's perception. This skill would be very useful for JMX in the future.

During her 19th year, she was ordered by the main house in the capital to go and marry the fifth imperial son. She thought that this would be an excellent opportunity to infiltrate the capital and expand their network. White Wind had wanted to extend to the capital, but because it was so close to the royal family's power, it was quite hard. Her cousin highly disagreed, but JMX already had made up her mind and knew that the fifth prince was cold and uncaring military man. She just had to act the par to what the Jin main family branch believed she was: a country bumpkin ignorant of society. She had an idea of what the Jin family wanted but since their objectives overlapped with hers, she did not mind that much. 

However, once in the capital, she expected her husband and his family to be cold and mock her. Nevertheless, although her husband was quite cold, he and his family did not mistreat her. Slowly she would realize that maybe she liked this place where she would have a family. The capital had many tensions, but she was willing to stay there as long as the person she loved would also have her in his heart. This fifth prince could be very gentle and caring when he wanted to!
